What Is PAC/SAL? Chapter 766 of the Massachusetts State Law regarding Special Education requires each school district to have a Parent's Advisory Council. In Lunenburg, we are priviledged to have an active parent's council. We are a system-wide organization of parents, teachers, and administrators working in partnership to promote an innovative educational environment where children with disabilities have equal access to educational opportunities and that our schools are safe, nurturing, challenging learning environments for ALL children. We chose our name because we believe our children are Special Achievers in spite of their challenges, whether those challenges are learning, behavioral, mental or physical.
The objectives of our organization are:- To promote an innovative educational environment where children with disabilities have equal access to educational opportunities and a school environment where all children are encouraged to reach their potential.
- To promote a network for parents of children with disabilities and provide a forum to share information and discuss matters of relative interest and concern regarding our children.
- To collaberate with the school community to continually improve the educational opportunites available within and without our schools that promote improved educational outcomes for children with disabilities.
