TRICARE Standard is what once was called the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Uniformed Services (CHAMPUS). It's one of the three TRICARE options that are available to TRICARE-eligible people. TRICARE Standard shares most of the costs of care from civilian hospitals and doctors when you don't get care through a uniformed services hospital or clinic.
