red arrow MEMORIAL DAY RUN:

The San Diego USO wants to make sure that our active duty folks stay "active" over the Memorial Day weekend, so they are offering free entry to the Saddleback Memorial Half Marathon and 5K to be held on Memorial Day in Laguna Hills.

This event is Southern California's premiere Memorial Day athletic event, with a giant 25' x 15' American flag serving as the backdrop for the opening ceremonies. American flags will be distributed at no cost to participants and spectators.

red arrow SAME SHIP, DIFFERENT DAY:

This is an extremely interesting article about the Coast Guard that I found in a very unusual place on the web. It's a real eye-opener - don't miss it.

red arrowUSO TUESDAY NIGHT DINNER:

Extend your holiday weekend by taking a break from cooking and stopping by the USO Tuesday night for their weekly FREE dinner, open to all active duty military and their families. I will be putting on my chef's hat and joining a group of Key Volunteers from MCRD in the kitchen that night, and we promise to serve up a fantastic feast. We start serving at 6 PM. Free parking is available in the parking garage under the USO building. Click on the link below for more information and a map. Hope to see you there!

That's it for this week! Hope everyone has a fantastic week!
