*Journal Entry- Read excerpt of Treaty of Versailles pg. 711 Do you agree or disagree with the content? Predict how it affected the political climate in Germany and all of Europe

I'm not totally sure whether I agree or disagree.  It was not only Germany's fault, and yet they were forced to take full blame for the war.  However, I don't deny that they had a big part in starting it in the first place.  Economically, Germany suffered under all the enormous debts and war reparations they had to pay.  Politically, Germany fell apart.  Russia went through a revolution, and most of Europe, especially the newly formed countries, were having problems with their governments new and old along with the staggering debts.  Trust between the nations was shifted, which was a factor in finally leading to World War II.  Meant to end one war, the Treaty of Versailles was just one of many "last straws" that pushed the world over the edge and into the second World War.
