Who is Lord Ganesha?
 The moment I "discovered" Ganesha I felt like I had just met someone I had known in a past life. I felt like I was at home, I doubt that I will ever be able to describe this happening and do it any justice; but I knew from the start that Lord Ganesha was going to be a part of my life.
It was simple, really. I came across a ritual in one of my pagan books that mentioned Ganesha. I was intrigued and started reading more about him, and I found that I was drawn to him in a way I have never been drawn to any other deities I have come across.
I think what appealed to me most about Ganesh was the idea that he was the Remover of Obstacles. Not only did he remove obstacles in our path so that we achieved our goal--but he also PUT obstacles in our paths! If we were going down the wrong road, or making decisions that weren't right, he put obstacles in our way to stop us, to make us think about what we are doing and re-evaluate our goals.
This idea was like an epiphany to me! I thought about all the times when I had made plans or when I had wanted something sooo badly and then was devastated when something went wrong, or things didn't turn out the way I had hoped.
One example of this that will probably relate to every single person out there, has to do with love. I remember being "in love" with someone who didn't know I was alive, or who didn't share the same feelings. I think we've all been there. I was desperate for things to turn out and when they didn't--when my heart was broken because my affections were not returned, the disappointment was great. However, I know now that what I was wanting, what MY goal was--was not the path for me. Having met my soul-mate finally, I realize now that if I hadn't had my heart broken by all those others, I never would have met him and my life wouldn't be happy.
And that is what Lord Ganesh does for each of us that honor him. He's like a loving muse who inspires us, a gentle hand pushing us onto the right road in life, the compassionate guide helping us to achieve our goals--if they are the RIGHT goals for us!
Why did I make this page?
I must state here that I honestly don't know that much about Hinduism. I am fascinated by all religions and love learning about them, but the religion of Hinduism itself did not speak to me, not the way Ganesh spoke to me.
I am pagan. I practice witchcraft and have done so for over ten years. In my many years of learning and growth, I have expanded my beliefs and ideas to include more diverse deities and practices.
Buddha is one of many Gods and Deities that I have a very strong attachment to. Ganesh, however, is the one I worship the most. Since I am pagan and also worship Ganesh, I decided that I wanted to find as much information and rituals and spells dealing with Ganesh and adapt them to the Pagan faith.
