Dresser Set (1)

For PSP7

This is the mirror and  is what you will make with this tutorial.
In the following weeks several other pieces to match will be made into tutorials.

I came up with this style of the dresser set because I have one that was passed
on to me by my Grandmother.  It used to belong to my Great Grandmother.

Go a head and take a peak at the bottom of the page.
It will show you many things that can be done if you want to.
Have fun and after you complete the tutorial do it again and make up your
own design for the  Mirror.

New Image 400, 400 16 million Colors .. Transparent

Set your Foreground color to 808080 and your Background color to 4040FF (the 0 is a ZERO not an o)

Lock your colors/styles .... a little check mark in the box that says Lock under Colors Pallet.

Both textures are turned off (circle with line through it)

With your preshapes tool choose Triangle

retain style unchecked
anti alias checked
create as vector checked
Line width is set to 2

With your mouse start at 180/150 First set of numbers. (Watch the lower left hand corner of your PSP screen go) to 220/350 (second set of numbers .

You will have a box around your triangle when you release the mouse.

Go to view and zoom in once so you have an easier time seeing the next section.  You will be working on the bottom part of the triangle.

Now click on the little box that is beside your preshapes tool (it's called the object selector).  The icon looks like a box with an arrow in it.

Now right click some where in your working window but NOT inside what you are going to edit .. choose NODE EDIT.  After you do this if you click anywhere else your edit window will disappear .. just right click again and choose node edit again .. I had to do it at LEAST 5 times while writing this;)

NOW when you click on Node edit you will notice that your picture disappeared, don't worry it's really still there:)

Hold down your ctrl (control) key and move the mouse over the bottom line, see how it changes to ADD, You need to add a node right in the middle of that line. Add another one to the left and to the right so from side to side you have five little boxes spaced as close to evenly apart as you can get:) Now let go of the control button.

This time with just left mouse button held down pull the middle "box" down just a tad and then the ones to each side of that.  What you want is something that looks like this.

When you have what you want then right click out side of the edit space and choose quit node edit, your triangle will be back with an all new look:)

Go to layers and choose convert to raster layer.  When you do this you will have the NO symbol if you pass your mouse over your work.  It's ok, as soon as you choose a different tool it will go away:)

Go back to your preshapes and choose Ellipse , anti alias checked, create as vector UNchecked line width 9 and same Foreground and Background colors as before

Draw from 130,15 to 270,184 (remeber watch the number is the bottom of the PSP window)

Kind of ugly huh? Looks like this.

Go to layers,merge, merge visible.

Now you can use your mover tool and move the mirror down the page a little to where you want to.

During the next part do not deselect .. until I say to.

Use your wand set to 0 tolerance and click inside the large blue circle of the mirror. Go to selections, modify, expand 2 .. OK

Hit delete on your keyboard. Leave it selected, add new layer move it to the bottom.

Go to selections modify, expand 1. OK

Use your Filler can and right click, it should fill with blue again.  (We had to do this to get rid of that big black spot that was between the blue and gold and this was the easiest way to do:)

Leave it selected and go to effects, texture, texture and use these settings.  Texture #53, Size % 44, smoothness 2, depth 7, ambience 0, shininess 0, color white, angle 307, intensity 43, elevation 33.  OK.

Go to effects, 3d, inner bevel.  Use these settings.  Start with the preset of Pillow then change to settings to the following. Width 4, smoothness 15, depth 12, ambience 0, shininess 50, color white, angle 324, intensity 50, elevation 30. OK

Go to selections, modify, contract 12. OK
