SIBERIAN HUSKY - THE BREED
Well, you wanted to know a little bit about us?
We are a small kennel with a very selective and limited breeding program. Many of our friends enjoy the same
hobby as we do (showing and educating people with programs). That makes it even more thrilling and enjoyable
when someone you know wins! We have met so many friends this way and have seen so many new places and
states, even countries! We usually have one, maybe two litters a year. We
strive for sweet, outgoing personalities with lovely type, and free of genetic health problems. But most importantly,
the typical Siberian Husky who desires to be loved and to be a good family member within his human pack!
We are gladly owned and loved by the
Pair-A-Dice Siberian Husky family and enjoy showing and presenting
educational and therapy programs in our spare time. We love each Siberian Husky we have had the pleasure
of being owned by and want every puppy or dog placed to be loved first and shown or run second. This
relationship will hopefully last for 12-18 years between this special friend and their owner. Please visit
each of our family members, as we are very proud of our special dogs, as well as our wonderful pets.
Charley is a Mechanical Engineer and runs
Bennett Machine and Fabricating. Loretta is a children's
librarian/and assistant librarian at the Tipton Public Library. She only works part-time and is able to
present programs to the different organizations like schools, daycares, preschools, ect. To keep
both their sanities - they travel with the guys and occasionally win. We have been extremely blessed
with the dogs we own and the number of wins we've had. We both enjoy the breed and are proud
members of the the International Siberian Husky Club and the Siberian Husky Club of America.
One difference that we hold dear from other breeders is that we grow very attached to any member
of our home including our two indoor cats (Squirt & Dweeb) who have shared our lives for many,
many years and co-exist with our Siberians. Even though they may not be show dogs, they are
spayed/neutered and live out their natural lives with our family.
We heard this statement over 10 years ago and have truely thought
it was the true meaning of a breeder "If you don't rescue - Don't breed!"
Keep in mind that 1/3 of our dogs are spayed or neutered. We don't feel that all dogs need to
be bred even if they earn their Championship, OFA and eye check (and since we do very limited breeding)
we would rather spay/neuter them and then let them live their lives out without having to worry about
hormones running their lives. They live indoors as couch potatoes when retired and both indoors/outdoors
when showing and growing. They rough it on our acrage in the country in fenced grass pens and a "kennel"
we built in 1990. This kennel is wallpapered with ceiling fans, insulated to keep it about 45-60 year round
with indoor/outdoor runs that are 30 foot long, and of course ; we play music ALL the time (their choice)!
But, they will all tell you their favorite spot is in front of the recliners in the family room watching out the
french doors to make sure life is just passing them by.... until we go outside to play and excersice!
