The Adventures of Paisley
Blue
The last several times I've tried to work on my journal something has happened - either the computer crashes or something similar - so I feel like I'm really taking a chance trying to write in it now. So here goes....
The days following my birthday became more and more busy and exciting and hectic than any in recent memory. For five or six days in a row, we were going out every night, usually singing karaoke. I would go to work and then we would go out. Some nights I did not even go home between work and the bars.
It was all very exciting and stimulating, but by the time that spree came to an end, I'd had enough. I was not going anywhere. All I wanted to do was be real still and quiet in my home, whether that meant watching tv or reading a book or whatever.
During the middle of all that fun, last Sunday, Michael came over. For the first time in weeks I had the apartment to myself because Mechanic was out with one of his friends, and Opera was out with one of her friends. Michael and I talked and he really cheered me up. Then, I got all showered and dressed and we decided to go out.
First we went to a Mexican restaurant on Capitol Hill that his boss had taken him to the day before. They were serving brunch and it was reasonably priced at $7.50 apiece. The enchiladas suizas were fabulous. From there we went to Edge of the Circle bookstore where I picked up my copy of City Magick that I talked about on the 10th. From there we went to Toys in Babeland, a cute shop that offers interesting "pleasure oriented" items for men and women.
I had already told him earlier in the day how I was feeling since I had not had a date in months and felt like I was ready to explode, if you know what I mean. He asked if I hadn't been able to use any of my toys, especially the brand new one I had bought last time he and I had shopped at a similar store. I told him that no, Opera's presence stopped me from playing with my toys. He had just sorta laughed and told me there was no way he could go that long without getting some.
So here we are in this store that has very unique, creative and innovative toys and he has to try the more unusual ones. The one that stands out in my memory was a glove that had a battery pack on the wrist. He slipped it on, tightened the velcro fastener on his arm, and lightly ran the vibrating glove over my shoulder and then down... OMG...
A few minutes later when we were walking outside the store, towards his car, I told him that I had been on the edge of an orgasm when he used that glove on me. He seemed shocked but it was funny, too, and we both laughed. Hmm... he said he wants that glove for Christmas but I think I need that glove more! LOL
We headed up to Safeway and rented movies and bought some chips and soda. We watched the Scooby Doo movie and, to be honest, I am glad I did not pay to see that in the theater. I would have been upset. He put in the Scorpion King and I fell asleep, taking a 2-1/2 hour nap. I guess I needed the sleep. He woke me up and talked me into going to the bar with him.
He'd spent about five minutes online and met someone who wanted to meet him at the bar that night. Michael wanted me to go along for moral support. You know, sometimes meeting someone who you first met online can be daunting. So we went... and this guy turned out to be very nice. After a round of drinks and shots of tequila, we went to the Sea Wolf. There, we had another round of drinks and shots of tequila... and they decided they wanted to leave.
Now I should have listened to that still, small voice inside of me that said to just stay there at the bar. However, I let Michael take me home and I hadn't been in the door two seconds when Mechanic called from the Sea Wolf to say that he was there looking for me. So I headed back up the hill and spent time with Mechanic and his friend, and Mama and all the others, singing karaoke.
And now Mechanic is fixing to fly away early tomorrow morning on a little family reunion/vacation. He will return next Saturday. I hope he has fun. He's never been that far east. He's got a connecting flight in an eastern-seaboard state and if he's lucky he'll even get to see the Atlantic Ocean.
Last night we were talking about the house we hope to move to and he told me something wonderful. Mechanic said he had plans for turning the small front room into an art studio for me. I was so shocked I don't think I said anything for a moment. Then I smiled. I can just imagine it... I can picture a drawing table next to the window... containers with my pens and pencils and brushes... oh my. I hope this comes true.
Yesterday I also registered with NaNoWriMo which stands for National Novel Writing Month -- "a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30." Sunday will be a kickoff party for the Seattle area writers and I plan to attend. I don't know any of the other people, but this will be a way to possibly make new friends and meet my fellow writers.
I've also begun my online college course in Project Management. It is one of five classes required to earn a certificate. This is my very first college class... my first attempt at post-high school education. I am very excited. On my very first quiz from lesson one I made a 90%. That has me stoked!
It seems to me that I have made a lot of progress on the goals that I have formulated this month. I am drawing, I am writing, and I am making myself heard. Wow!
But what the heck am I gonna say??? *grin*
