The Adventures of Paisley
Blue
Whew! I can't believe this many days went by without a single entry. Hmmm... I've just been incredibly busy and deliciously distracted. What's a girl to do?
Work has been kicking my a@@. Everyday I leave feeling like I haven't got much accomplished, and yet, slowly but surely I am marking things off of my to-do list. So something must be going right. I'm up to my eyelashes working on the annual staff retreat and the internal auction and the shared drive library... oh, and my normal tasks, too.
There's been a bit of drama with the Accounting department, as well. The wonderful thing is that my supervisor and the Vice President have my back and have totally supported me in this conflict. What can I say? Usually the drama is reserved for my personal life. LOL
Sunday we had an unexpected pleasure - Twinkle stopped by to visit us in our new apartment. Everyone was home. Of course, he already knew Michael and Mechanic, but this was his first time meeting Opera. We showed him our hospitality by serving him a couple of adult beverages... and the more he indulged, the more... relaxed... he became. Upon his arrival he had invited me over for dinner, but as he took his leave he had to cancel that engagement because he was rather too relaxed to think of preparing a meal.
As he sat in the living room with us, chatting and everything, I realized that in this room sat the three men I love... all at one time. And I'm the wrong gender for every last one of them. However, it is my great fortune to have their friendship and love. I was amazed at how different they are... but then, that's one of the things that makes life interesting. If we were all the same, the world would be a terribly boring place.
Now to share something pretty cool and exciting... I have a new friend. We have been corresponding by email for a couple of days. He saw my profile and website, then decided to write to me. I'm not going to go into any great detail but I will say that he certainly makes me think. He asks great questions... thought-provoking questions... and he writes wonderfully long letters. *happy sigh*
It doesn't look like things are going to slow down much for me, at least at work, but I will try to write a little more frequently. So many things are happening and I don't want to forget any of it. Also I want to share the fact that I saw a dentist recently. What is cool about him is how I found him -- online! He has an absolutely cool website. There's lots of information about dental stuff - and I learned a lot just surfing around.
His website is called E Janson DDS - General and Cosmetic Dentist, Downtown Seattle dentistry. The photo doesn't do him justice. He is way cute in person. What's even more important is that he is nice and he really listens. I mean, I told him how sensitive I am to pain and that local anesthetic doesn't work on me as well as most people - and he took the time to make sure I was plenty numbed before cleaning my teeth. Why can't all dentists be like him? *giggle*
Well, off to bed for the night... sweet dreams, cyberworld!
