The Adventures of
Paisley Blue
A new beginning, a renewal for this
journal. In the intervening months I had started another online
journal. I am planning to transfer the entries from there to here,
simply to provide some continuity, so my readers (if you exist) may
figure out what happened in the "silent months." CB and I are
married now, living in Seattle, Washington. That is a far cry from
the last time I wrote about my family squabbles in Arkansas and
Oklahoma. Having a couple of thousand miles between me and them has
done wonders for my mental health.
I work as a Ticketmaster
Agent, talking on the phone all day and getting paid for it.
Yesterday was a very big day for me. I have only been there for
three weeks, but I just received a promotion and a $1.25 pay raise.
In addition, I passed my latest Quality Assurance review with 100%
flying colors, entitling me to a $20 gift certificate to Safeway. I
had set a goal to get one of those certificates after my first QA,
and now on my fourth, I have achieved it. I floated all day after
that.
Another nice thing about living in Seattle is the
freedom I feel to be myself. Sometimes I think this catches CB off
guard, surprising him with a short burst of boldness every now and
then, but he says he likes it. I have contacted the staff at
Widdershins - a local publication at http://www.widdershins.org/ -
about volunteering with them. I've made plans to attend a Samhain
party at Edge of the Circle bookstore on October 31st. I'm very
excited about all this.
Our life has never been "easy" so to
speak, but always worth it. My thought for today is that before
living in the circumstances I am now, I never had truly appreciated
the blessing of having a private, clean bathroom. Next time I have
an apartment with my own bathroom, I resolve to keep that shower,
toilet, sink, and floor spotless! ;-)
