The Mangalore Trip (Contd..)

The sunset came before expected and we were walking by the highway, with absolutely no place to go. Soon it was too dark to walk we decided to try our luck. Asked a Rubber Plant Farmer if we could sleep outside his house. He was more friendly than we would have dreamt, he offered us food and asked us to come and watch TV. It was ironic how were lying in our tent outside his house, trying to run away from civilisation but could hear the TV being played inside.
A perfect example of camping for the sake of it.
Finally found the stream next day, had a refreshing bath and proceeded to seetemples at Belur and Haleebidu. They are amongst the most beautiful and delicately carved temples in southern India. A local guide gave us quite a lot of miscelleneous information on the temples and their builders.
