A Linux user that
flashed my modded AT7 ED/2.11 BIOS left this info for the driver for me, I simply
print it slightly modified since it was written in an E-mail. I do not know
which dist he uses, but it is not any of the Highpoint supported ones.
"Well I am
not using the highpoint raid5 implementation because I don't trust it and I
don't want to be tied to the hardware...
It is cool though, I can plug 12 disks.
So what I did is setup EVMS and MD RAID5 with a linux 2.6.0-test9 and It is
fast!
I get 60 megs per second in read mode and it is much more reliable [he probably
means more reliable than the VIA chipset, my theory].
It supports bad block relocation, snapshot, mirroring, filesystem shrinking
and growth, etc." |
