Getting started

Don't be overwhelmed by your new hobby. You probably have years of photos stashed away. You may think that you will never be able to find and organize all of them. You may feel that it is impossible to do, and that is even before you start to put them into a scrapbook. Don't worry, it will get easier as you progress. As you begin, realize that this project will take time.

Decide what type of scrapbook you want to make

  • Chronological: You may start from the beginning and work your way forward to the present. Another option is to work with your current photos and then divide the old photos into time segments. Work on these as you have time.

  • By person: Make a different scrapbook for each member of your family.

  • By theme: You may want to have special scrapbooks just for Christmas, vacations, birthdays or other special occasions.

Organize your photos according to the type of scrapbook you will be creating.

Gather your supplies and get started. It would be great if you have an area you can set aside just for scrapbooking, but if you are like me this is impossible. So I just keep all my supplies together in a plastic box in my closet. I use the dining room table for my work area.
