My first and only dropped subject in UP

Even before badminton became "in", I loved playing it even when I was in elementary. I love it until now. But there was a period in my college life that I hated this game so much I was pissed whenever I'm reminded of it. Actually I don't hate the game itself but the bad memory of my first PE in college. This annoyance is all because of a professor whom I can never forget. She will be forever etched in my list of my "panira ng buhay". Yes! She's a her, although you would mistake her for Dolphy. She looked liked Dolphy in his younger years when he was till skinny and his hair curly. I don't mean to make her look "ewan" just because I hate her because what I'm saying is true. She really looks like "ewan". I can't think of a word that would best describe her so "ewan".

During my first year first semester in UP, I took badminton for my PE2. I told you I loved the game ever since a child. I admit I am not a pro in playing badminton but I often win in competitions since elementary and even with my playmates when we play in the street. I think I am good player. But my confidence was shattered when it was time for the practical exams. For the exams, we need to play one-on-one with our professor. And guess what she gave me 4.0 for that test. I think she wanted us to defeat her to be able to get a 1.0 or even a grade of 2.0. Most of us had a grade of 3.0 and 4.0. Her grading system was very unfair! She even had a student in her other class who is an ASEAN player for badminton and geuess what? She gave that girl a grade of 2.75. If a girl who fights in an international competition got 2.75, what more an ordinary girl like me who just happen to love badminton.

Anyway, aside from her looks she has a very bad reputation among the students. One classmate of mine in Span during that sem said "Naku goodluck syo. Kung ako sayo mag drop ka na!" when she learned that she was my prof in badminton. She was famous for giving 5.0. There was even a classmate of mine who told me that there was one student of hers that pointed a gun to her face because she flunked the guy. She said that the guy was a son of a wealthy politician but still she was not scared at all.

During the last day of dropping I talked to her and asked her my standing in class. She said I was in between 3.0 and 4.0 but she said her policy is 3.0 or 5.0 no 4.0. So I asked her what would I best do. And she just answered me "bahala ka ikaw naman gumagawa ng grade mo". GGGRrrrrrrrr! There were even no words of encouragement from her like "we still have a final exam maybe you can make up for your low grade in the practicals". Anyway to cut the story short, I dropped it before the deadline at 5pm. And my dropping of this PE class was the reason why I didn't make it to the university or college scholar awards even if my grades were good. So I can never forget this incident in my life. Badminton PE2 was the first and only subject I dropped in UP.
