A BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO
BOYZONE
I made this section because I remember
how hard it was to find all the useful information when I first
got into Boyzone... I was so eager to find out absolutely
everything about this wonderful band, and spent hours and hours
looking for some basic information.
So now I wanted to make it a little bit easier to all the new
fans out there - I hope this is for some help!
I've included all the official releases - singles, albums, videos
- as well as information about fan clubs and official websites.
You'll also find a list of rare Boyzone songs, and a list of
commonly used song title abbreviations - they can be very
confusing! You should read it, if you think that LIAR when
speaking about Ronan is a bad nickname.
So here it is - A BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO BOYZONE. If you're a new
fan, I hope you learn a lot, and even if you've been a fan from
the very beginning, I hope you enjoy at least the layout if
nothing else! : )
A QUICK INTRODUCTION
Some things that you really should know so
you don't embarrass yourself when joining mailing lists, signing
guestbooks or talking to other fans... ; )
The band was formed in 1993 in Dublin, Ireland. Boyzone is
managed by Louis Walsh and John Reynolds, that is, the WAR
Management.
Boyzone has been extremely successful especially in UK and
Ireland - they've had six #1 singles in the British charts. All
their four albums have topped the UK charts, and all their
singles so far have gone into the top 3.
In year 2000 the lads have started some solo projects, but it
does not, I repeat, NOT, mean that Boyzone has split up. So if
you really are a new fan, you still have a chance! : )
The band members are main singer Ronan Keating,
who also co-manages super successful boyband Westlife, Stephen
Gately, who is nowadays famous for being the first
boyband member ever to reveal that he's gay (fair play to him!), Shane
Lynch, whose solo carreer is racing - and crashing -
cars, Mikey Graham, who's also started a solo
carreer in the music business, and Keith Duffy,
who at the moment is really into his TV presenting.
And who wouldn't want one more reason to celebrate? Thought so.
So if you fancy having a real Boyzone party once a year, have it
on 18th November - that's the official Boyzone Day.
