Eric and Greta Fan Fiction
Chapter Two

Eric quickly drove over to the spot where he was meeting Nicole.  He saw her car there and parked near it.  Nicole saw him coming and eagerly got out of her car and waited for him.  Eric got out of his car and leaned against the front, his arms crossed over his chest.  Nicole saw he wasn't coming over so she went to join him.
"Eric, I'm so glad you came" she said, putting her hand on his arm. He brushed her hand off.
"Yeah, I'm here" he said.  "So what was so important?"  Nicole saw that he was already a little angry and decided to go ahead and get to her point.
"I'm finally ready to tell you about my past" she said.  Eric gave her a little smirk.
"You mean about how you made a porn video before you met me?" he asked. She gasped.
"How did you find out?" she asked.
"C'mon Nicole, did you really think that no one would ever find out?" he said.
"I didn't ever think you would be caught in the adult section of the video store" she said.
"It was by accident" he said.  "Just how ever getting involved with you was one giant accident"  He turned to leave and Nicole grabbed his arm.
"I'm not done yet" she said.  "Because of that, some things are coming back to haunt me".  Eric thought this over and panicked.
"Wait, you mean like..." he said.  "And you and I slept together"
"That's why I'm getting these tests done, Eric" she said.  "Because..."
"Nicole, I can't believe you" he said, quietly but with a lot of force.  "I can't believe you would sleep with me after doing this.  You put your own life in danger, not to mention my own.  Thank God now that Greta and I never did anything so I don't need to worry about her"
"That's why I wanted to talk to you, to tell you to get yourself tested" she said.  Eric turned away angrily and she touched his arm.  He pulled away angrily.
"Don't even try to be nice to me" he said.  "I don't know if I can ever forgive you for this-for putting my life on risk for yourself"
"Eric, if you would just listen to me for a minute" she pleaded, her eyes filling with tears.
"No, I think I've heard enough" he said.  "Take care of yourself".  He threw open his car door and went in.  She went to follow him but he rolled up the windows and locked the doors.  She stomped over to her car, started it up, and peeled out of the parking lot.  Eric's head was racing as he turned on the radio.  He flipped through the stations while he thought to himself.  His head was racing and he couldn't calm down.
"I can't go home and go to sleep now, there's too much on my mind" he thought to himself.  He smiled when he finally realized what he had just done. "I finally stood up to her" he thought to himself.  "If that doesn't prove what I feel for Greta, I don't know what will".  His smile faded when he remembered the good times he had shared with Nicole, long before he had realized what she was really like.  "Maybe I made a mistake" he started to think, as the radio rolled onto another radio station.  It stopped on a country station and Eric half-listened to the song on the radio.
"Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers" he heard Garth Brooks sing. "Remember when you're talking to the man upstairs, just because He doesn't answer doesn't mean He don't care.  Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers".  Eric smiled as the song continued on.  "That's it" he said out loud.  He suddenly knew where he had to go.  He threw the car into gear, driving off and never looking back.

Greta was reading a book in bed when she heard a knock at the door.  "Who could that be?" she thought to herself.  She looked over at her clock, which read a quarter to one.  She got out of bed and pulled on a small robe and hurried into the living room.  There was another knock and she quickly opened the door.  There, she found Eric.
"Greta" was all he said, as he pulled her into a hug.  Greta was a little surprised to find him there but held onto him.
"Eric, what's wrong?" she asked, a little frightened that he had showed up at her house in the middle of the night.  "What happened?"  Eric pulled away and looked at her, finally realizing what she was wearing.
"I'm sorry, did I wake you?" he asked, looking her up and down.  She had a short, purple silk robe over whatever she had been wearing.  Her hair was pulled up in a ponytail and she had no make-up.
"No, I was just reading" she said, hurrying to shut the door before anyone saw her.  "Let me go change real quick"
"No, stay like you are" he said, grabbing her arm.  He pulled her over to the couch and sat down next to her.
"Did something happen?" she asked.  "I mean, you never really came over this late before"
"I know, and I'm sorry" he said.  "But I needed to come over, I had to talk to you"
"Ok" she said, sitting back a little.  "Do you want a drink or anything?"
"No, I'm fine" he said, a little impatiently.  "You know I went to talk to Nicole tonight".  Greta nodded, now very interested in what he had to say.  "And she told me some things about herself and her past-some things that I'm not ready to tell you about yet but I will soon"
"Nothing bad, I hope" she said, quietly.
"Well, I'll get back to you on that one" he said.  "But I finally did something I've been trying to do for a long time"
"What?" she asked, intrigued.  He took her tiny hand in his.
"I finally stood up to her" he said.  "I think I finally got her out of my life.  I've been trying to move on for a long time now and her insistence was the only thing keeping me back.  But I did it"
"I'm happy for you" she said, a little concerned.  "But are you saying you're just now ready to get over her?"
