| Shawn and Belle Fan Fiction "Save Me a Dance" Chapter Eighteen |
| In the truck Belle watched amused as Shawn flipped through the radio stations as he drove. He sang along with each one before quickly switching through the stations. "Can we pick one station please?" she finally begged, starting to get a headache. "Fine, fine" he said, spinning the dial. "What's got you all wound up?" she asked, watching him. "Oh, I dont know" he answered. "Maybe you just have that effect on me" She blushed and turned toward the window before he finally stopped on a station where Crazytown's "Butterfly" was playing. "Oh yeah" he said, dancing in the drivers seat being only slightly hindered by his seatbelt. Belle laughed as the people in the car next to them shot Shawn a strange look from his dancing and singing. "I don't deserve you unless it's some kind of hidden message to show me life is precious, then I guess it's true. To tell truth, I really never knew til I met you I was lost and confused, twisted and used up. Knew a better life existed but thought that I missed it. My life's wild, I was living like a wild child trapped on a short leash. Paroled the police files and yo, what's happening now? I see the sun breaking, shining through dark clouds and a vision of you standing out in a crowd." "Shawn, you're too much" she said, shaking her head at his antics. They pulled into the parking lot and she started to climb out but Shawn left the radio on after shutting off the truck. Philip pulled up in the space next to them and the other four piled out. Shawn turned the volume up on the music and slammed the front door shut. "What is he doing now?" Chloe asked, sidling up to Belle who was just staring at him. "Who knows" Belle said, watching. "You ready to go in, bro?" Philip asked, putting his hand on Shawn's shoulder but he slipped out of his grasp. As the chorus started to end they all watched as he hopped up into the bed of his truck. "What the hell?" Jason asked, as Shawn continued singing along with the song and dancing on the back of the truck. "What was he smoking on the way over?" Philip asked, watching. "I don't think I've ever been so embarrassed in my life" Belle said, hiding partially behind Mimi. "Hey sugar momma, come and dance with me the smartest thing you ever did was take a chance with me. So whatever tickles your fancy girl, it's you like Sid and Nancy So sexy, almost evil. Talkin' about butterflies in my head I used to think happy endings were only in the books I read but you made me feel alive when I was almost dead. You filled that empty space with the love I used to chase and as far as I can see, it don't get better than this. So buttefly, here is a song and it's sealed with a kiss and a thank you miss" A few customers in the parking lot applauded and Belle buried her face in Mimi's coat in embarrassment. He swung himself off the back of the truck and headed over in her direction. "Nice show, Brady" Philip said, still laughing. "Thanks, Kiriakis" he said, slapping him five. "Are we ready to go?" "I can't believe you" Belle said, slipping past him and heading into the restuarant. Chloe followed right behind her and Mimi hesitated, Jason's hand holding hers in his own. "What did I do wrong?" Shawn asked. "Oh, you know Belle" Mimi said, letting his hand drop and following the other two. "You're a regular Romeo with the ladies" Jason teased, as Shawn shut off the radio and locked his door. "I usually have better luck than that" Shawn said, watching Belle as she hurried through the lit restuarant to the ladies room. "Whatever you say" Philip said. They headed in and Jason gave their reservation to the woman in the front. Shawn slid down on a bench to wait and Philip took the seat next to him. "How long do you think it's gonna take this time?" Jason asked, crooking his head toward the door. "Probably at least an hour for just their hair" Shawn said, remembering Belle's elaborate hair-do. The door opened with the jingle of a bell and all three looked up as a group of college-aged girls let themselves in. The leader of the group, a tall thin blonde, stopped in her tracks and stopped to whisper to her companion. The two in the back stumbled into the back of them and giggled helplessly. "Jackpot" Jason murmured, his eyebrows raised. "Jason, what about...." Philip started. "Hey, I'm a free man now" Jason said, flashing the girls a grin. They giggled in response. The blonde went to speak with the waitress as another girl, a shorter one with curly auburn hair, walked over to them. "Hey guys" she said, with a flirtatious wink. "Hey" Shawn and Philip answered, politely. "How are you ladies this evening?" Jason asked, in his most charming voice. "Oh, we're just fine now" she answered, sliding into the seat between Shawn and Philip. Both boys slid back a little, away from her, and the slight smell of alcohol permeated from her jacket. "So what has you boys all dressed up?" another asked, sitting next to Philip and running her hand quickly down his arm. "Ummm, well, we were...." Philip faltered, looking at Shawn helplessly. "We were just..." "We were just what?" someone interrupted, and the group turned toward the noise at the ladies room door. Mimi leaned up against the doorjam, her eyebrows raised at the scene in front of her. Chloe looked pissed as she shifted her position in front of Philip and Belle stared Shawn down hard, her arms crossed in front of her. |
