Shawn and Belle Fan Fiction
"Tests"
Chapter Thirty Seven
"Stop, stop, STOP!" Belle squealed, using one hand for protection over her face as the other tried to fling the water back at Shawn.
"You stop first" he said, as his large hands caused waves of water to fall over her.
"Ok, I'm done!" she said, holding up both hands to emphasize herself.
"Good girl" he said, taking both her hands in his.  He held them up away from the water and pulled her closer.  She obliged but with a small grin, bumped him with her hips so that he fell down in the water.
"Shawn Brady, don't you know that I always win?" she asked, standing above him with a triumphant grin.
"You better run, little girl!" he said, struggling to right himself against the waves.  With a shriek, she hurried off as he chased her.  He caught her roughly in his arms and pulled her close, wiggling his free fingers at her.  "Hope you're ready to get tickled"
"No!" she said, pushing against his chest to get away from him.  They struggled for a minute and his fingers just grazed her moist skin when she stopped fighting him.
"Did you hear that?" she asked, pulling away.
"Hear what?" he asked, pausing as she held up her hand to silence him-then they both heard the unmistakable rumble of faraway thunder.  "Rain?"  As soon as the word was out of his mouth, Belle felt a few drops hit her arms.
"Here it comes!" he shouted as the sky opened up and it began to pour.  They ran out of the rest of the water and grabbed their stuff, along with Brady and Abby's.  Belle struggled to run with all the towels in her arms as Shawn pulled her along the beach.  She tripped on one towel that managed to break free from the rest and landed on her knees in the wet sand.  Laughing hysterically, she looked up at Shawn helplessly who managed not to fall in her tumble.  Shaking his head, he took the towels from her and added it to his own pile, pulling her up alongside him.  He said something but the words were lost in the rain as they hurried the rest of the way, Belle laughing so hard that her tears mixed in with the raindrops.  Finally they reached the house and Belle collapsed against the wall, giggling and holding her stomach.
"Oh, God, that was priceless" she managed in between her laughter.  Her giggles were infectious and Shawn also laughed as he looked at them, soaking wet and covered in wet sand.  When she finally stopped, she climbed to her feet again.  "I'm gonna clean off" she said, motioning to the outdoor shower underneath the porch.
"I'll meet you upstairs" he said, taking all the things upstairs to hang to dry.  After dropping the bags in the empty living room, he carried the towels out to the porch to hang them to dry.  Thunder and lightning raged around him and he sat down on a chair to watch the crashing waves.  A few minutes later, the door slid open and Belle stepped out.
"What are you doing Shawn?" she asked.  "Dinner will be ready soon"
"Just watching the storm" he said, motioning and she also stopped to look.  With a flick of his wrist, he motioned her over and patted his lap.  Smiling, she settled herself down on him and leaned back against his chest.
"I love the ocean" he finally said, and Belle jumped when she felt his warm breath on the back of her neck.
"I know you do" she whispered back.  She snuggled closer to him and felt his arms wrap around her from behind.
"I love this song" he said, refering to the faint melody that could be heard through the kitchen window where someone was finishing up dinner.
"That's funny cause this song always reminded me of you" she said, glad he wasn't facing her to see her blush.  He pulled her closer as Otis Redding began singing.
"Sitting in the morning sun, I'll be sitting when the evening comes" Shawn sang gently in her ear.  "Watching the ships roll in, then I watch them roll away again. Oh, I'm sitting on the dock of a bay, watching the tide roll away. Sitting on the dock of a bay, wasting time"
"You have a beautiful voice" Belle said, when he stopped.
"You're beautiful all over" he murmured, as he rubbed his face in her hair.  He brushed away some of her hair with his nose and placed a kiss on the back of her neck.  His hands moved to brush her tank top up slightly as his hands slipped over her bare stomach.  Belle held her breath and waited as his hand moved gently over her stomach.
"Shawn, what are you doing?" she finally asked.  "Trying to get three wishes?'
"Don't they rub some bellies for good luck?" he teased.
"I DO NOT have a Buddha belly" she insisted, slapping his hand under her shirt.
"No, you certainly don't" he laughed, as his hand ran over the gentle rise and fall of her stomach muscle.  His hand raised higher until it met with the bottom of her bikini top.
"Shawn..." she started.
"Mmm, Belle..." he murmured as his nose rubbed against her right ear.  She tilted her head in the direction to stop the tickling touch and he craned his face around to meet hers.  Soon she found herself lost in one of his gentle kisses as she turned more to wrap her arms around his neck.  They were so engrossed in the simple innocent kiss that they didn't hear the screen door slide open.
"Shawn, can you come in and..." Hope started, as she turned and saw the two wrapped up in each other.  With a look of shock, her hand raised to her open mouth as Shawn stared up at her guiltily.  "What is this?"  Belle went to slide off of his lap but his hands squeezed her tighter and refused to let her go.
"Mom, I can explain" Shawn started, his mind running furiously to come up for an excuse.
"Yeah, you'd better" she said, as she lowered her hand to reveal a huge smile.
