The Online Warfare Pact
"Defending Teamplay With Honor"; Closed/Disbanded in 2005
From the old [OwP] website... (Org's mission statement) "The Online Warfare Pact exists to promote a positive game play environment in the Day of Defeat Community. In the current multi-player gaming environment, there are a number of barriers to be overcome if we are to be successful:
(1) Cheating...
(2) Bug abuse (including spawn camping)...
(3) Disruptive and Abusive Behaviour...
(4) Racism... [, and]
(5) Deathmatch Mentality."
In December 2002 the Online Warfare Pact had 5302 members. The [OwP] membership formed loose bonds around common goals and beliefs. They weren't a political action committee, a bunch of rules-obsessed wankers, or even a clan. They were simply a huge group of DoD players (young and old) who feel very strongly that the Mod should be played the way it was originally intended. In other words, teamplay and cooperation on each side combined with common courtesy on every server is the highest goal of the [OwP].
All DoD players who truly believed that the Mod is meant to promote cooperation and authentic infantry leadership mourn the demise and dissolution of [OwP]. Now that it has gone, many players wonder where else one can ally oneself with a huge group of fellow DoD enthusiasts without a try-out? The answer is [>A<], the Aumakua Community. Hopefully, wherever you see the [>A<] tag after 01Jan06, you'll know that player is committed to a positive gaming experience just like we were in [OwP].
Good hunting!
