The Parish Church Records of Sandal Magna, near Wakefield in Yorkshire, England
record the following:- Robert ARAM of Sandal Magna & Sarah HOWDEN, married by
Banns 16th. August 1784 wits. Abraham KNIGHT & Ann HUDSON.
At this stage in my research I have no details about Robert ARAM's parents or his life prior
to his Marriage, though I believe he was born around 1756 most likely in Yorkshire.
The christening records of Robert & Sarah ARAM's children recorded their father's
occupation as "Labourer".
I believe Sarah HOWDEN was born around 1760 in Sandel Magna & that her parents
may have been Francis HOWDEN & Sarah KAY, though this is little more than a theory.
Francis HOWDEN & Sarah FAY were married in Sandel Magna on the 9th. November 1754
& they had at least 2 other children Robert & Francis.

[ note: There is still some doubt about whether this "Thomas ARAM" was or was not
the son of Robert ARAM & Sarah HOWDEN. I feel that he most likely was their first
child and, if so, he was born just after (or just before) they were married. Descendants

[ Note. Francis was a Railway man, as he moved around the country he took
his wife with him as a result of this his children were born in a number of different
places. It is also thought that he worked as a "Gardener" from time to time.
There is also a strong belief that Francis Aaron ARAM may have been
married previously, possibly in Huddersfield & may have had at least two sons to
this earlier marriage. The two sons were John ARAM b/1813 - bur. 5th. Jun. 1827 at
St. Wilfred's Calverley, YKS. father's name listed as Aaron ARAM of Idle. &
Robert ARAM, b/1816 Huddersfield, he listed his father as Francis ARAM, a
Gardener, when he married Faith LACEY. ]
