The following family history has been compiled from various sources, such as the "ARAM FAMILY BOOK", the I.G.I., a number of Birth, Death & Marriage Certificates as well as the personal stories of elder members of the ARAM & HOPKINSON families. I would also like to thank my distant cousins Ray HENRY (of the ARAM/SYKES line) and Cheryl WATT & Gail HOPKINSON (both descendants of Samuel HOPKINSON & Mary ARAM as am I ) .

GRUNDY

    Jonathan GRUNDY was born circa. 1770 in Yorkshire, England & died on the 8th. August 1836 in the village of Undercliffe just outside of Bradford, Yorkshire.
    Who his parents were is not known, though I have a theory that his father may have been a "Robert GRUNDY" as a "Robert GRUNDY" is recorded as the father of Grace GRUNDY, chr. 12-10-1777, Dinah GRUNDY chr. 15-9-1782 & Sarah GRUNDY chr. 21-10-1784 all in Bradford, Yorkshire. I also think he had a brother called Thomas GRUNDY, who married an Elizabeth (surname unknown) & they had a daughter called Jane GRUNDY chr. 26-3-1828 in Bradford.
    Jonathan GRUNDY married Sarah Ann STEAD, on 22nd. November 1795 at the Parish Church, Calverley in Yorkshire, England. It is believed that they had Seven children though I have only found record of Six. The missing child is thought to have been a daughter born between Hannah & Mary.
