| A few words about this site... |

This area consists of an archive of outlines and notes I compiled on Music History during my doctoral studies at Harvard University
(1994-1998). Although I decided against completing my degree (opting instead for an M.A.), I thought that these materials might be
of use to other undergraduates and graduate students needing reference materials on a variety of musical topics. The bulk of these
outlines were compiled during my preparations for the Ph.D. qualifying exams (which I successfully passed, by the way). I hope these
materials are of some use to other music students out there. Email me if they are, I'd sure like to know if
they are of any value whatsoever to anybody out there.
Note from August, 2005: I'm not planning to do anything with this site in the forseeable future. It's been 8 years since leaving the music program at Harvard and, frankly, my interests have moved onto other subjects (though I still enjoy music immensely). Please enjoy the info available, but don't expect any updates in the near-term.
