Moving Along
This is going to be our main navigation point around the site. From here you will be able to view all the other pages and send us emails. We are also going to tell you a little about the "Parent to Parent" program and its goals.
The "Parent
to Parent" programs began in the United State's in the early
1970's. It was established to offer a unique form of support to
families who have a member with a special need. Experienced parents
are carefully matched in a one to one relationship with newly referred
parents in the program. The "mentor" parents use their
personal experiences to offer information and support to their matched
parents in the program.
Once a match is made, each relationship evolves individually depending on the needs and the preferences of the referred parent. For some the match is short term, and involves just information exchange, for others it is a friendship that lasts forever. Because the relationship is one on one, the nature of the support is different than that found in support groups. Please use the navigation buttons on the left to move around our site, and let us know what you think. And if time permits please sign our guest book below, thank you.
