POETRY ON THE WEB * WRITERS ON THE WEB * NEWSLETTER

Monday, 17 June 1996

Thanks for all the support to get this newsletter started. This issue we'll lay out a few guidelines, and share some announcements that have come through. It has been decided to not call this the poet's park newsletter so that all may feel equal in this effort. Pow wow has a good ring to it, and fits our purpose. We want to have a forum to share the news of outlets both on and off the internet that affect creative writers. The guidelines are simple:

Send:

  1. information on new poetry or fiction outlets you've created found on the www.
  2. information regarding new outlets you have either created or found on the internet, including e-mail letters like this one.
  3. announcements regarding books or chapbooks you have available for others to read.
  4. announcements regarding new off-line magazines or new issues you've been published in, etc.
  5. anything else you feel is relevant. Events, Markets, etc

Dustbooks has made a special offer available to readers of our list. The 1996-1997 Directory of Poetry Publishers is available for $17.00 - that's $3.00 off the normal price. Order from their toll-free number: 1-800-477-6110 before July 15, 1996. There are over 2000 poetry markets listed. This valuable book a full description of each magazine. 12th edition. Fiction writers would prefer the Directory of Little Magazines & Small Presses - 6,000 markets; over 1,000 pages for only $25 if ordered before July 15, 1996 32nd Edition.
