Review:
Silver Wings, now in it's 14th year of publication and edited by Jackson Wilcox. The Summer 96 issue reads much the same as any other issue of SW, but the essay by Jackson is wonderful and well worth the measly $2. I wish I could say good things about the poems themselves. One of the poets says it best: "Don't confront me with reality, but let me stay serene". Serene is a good adjective for these poems, and I personally enjoy the type of poetry that confronts reality face to face. I did get a kick out of Charles Waugaman's poem, which paraphrased, says if we dare let love enter our minds that within minutes commerce "will return us to normal". Order a copy from Jackson Wilcox: PO Box 1000, Pearblossom, CA Pearblossom, CA 93553. Or go all out and send $7/4 issues.
