6 of Swords, Science.

I beleive the 6 of Swords represents one having complete synthesis of mind and spirit - it is a very intellectual card and therefore when I see it in a reading I know that myself or the individual I am reading for, are using their own skills and mental capabilities very well. The Science card to me is a cautious card - a person that draws conclusions from previous events and then plans what course they will go on to ensure they "come out on top". When I read the meaning of the artwork for this card in the accompanying guide it states that the picture is a 14th century fencer's diagram of how to put oneself in the position where it will be invulnerable from attack. This is particularly interesting - the Science card when drawn by a person means they are very strong mentally, they also know exactly what they need to do in order to succeed or not be hurt in a situation. I compare this card to Art - basing future paths on lessons we have learnt in the past and consolidating our knowledge - basically using our skills and intellectual abilities to really "see" a situation. Swords - meaning Air, intellect and action. 6 - moving forward
Unlike many others I believe this is a very advantageous card to draw as it shows that you are in a very strong position in your life, you are using your intelligence to make the world what you want it be.

This is the card of intelect and control. the card of figuring out stuff and being let down by it as the course of events work out differently. It is the card of skill that is being used in a way that caused the client some grief of soughts. This cn work both ways of course. The path can also align with the outcome. It could be the very begining stages to divination.

My interpretation for the science card is pretty straightforward. I read a lot for my boyfriend and he wants to be a mathematician, and this comes up a lot for him. I see it in that case as dealing with scientific pursuits, as in school, work, or searching for a health-related answer.

This is one of those cards that I tried to tie in the Thoth meaning to the meaning that tends to go along with the definitions for Ryder-Waite, Robinwood, etc....decks.
It occured to me that the meanings leaving, brighter days ahead, smoother waters ahead, getting some distance (with the person and small person being rowed away in the boat) may tie in with the Thoth definition of Objective Communicating, in that, if we step back from the situation,(get some distance from looking at it up so close) we are able to view it in a more objective manner, and therefore able to verbalize our oppinion in a much more clearer, fairer way.

6 is the number of air and the mind, swords are the magical weapon of air and the mind. this is the intellect put to its natural use, what it was meant to do; makes sense out of things.

Masking deceit as reason: "Now let's be reasonable about this," is the interpretation I received regarding an unfruitful relationship. I felt the card's message was that the other person was trying to "make me see reason", meaning that they felt they were being reasonable and I wasn't. A very subtle form of deceit.

Self-destruction through the fear of what might be, which is usually the result of the 5 of swords--almost inevitably leads to this, which I most often see as the need to apply intelligence to the matter, devoid of emotion. The most important aspect of this card to me is the ability to separate emotion from the other parts of our being and make a decision regarding the situation, and if this can be done successfully, our basic instincts will work hand in hand with the chain of events we have created to sufficiently diffuse the situation.

As a reaction to the defeat of the 5, we will experience remorse, anger, regret, etc., and whatever solutions these emotional reactions elicit. After a while, though, we shift into another mode, usually not even realizing it until afterwards, in which our subconscious survival instinct sets things into motion to bail us out. After time (in the five ) throwing a wrench into the machine, the beauty of Science is that we usually don't even see the solution until we've set it into motion.

Like all the Swords, the Six deals with a situation where courage is required, or acquired. Following after the Five, Defeat, the message I have received from this card is to accept the loss and move on. This moving could be literal or figurative. Leave the past behind. This would be a card for refugees, for those whose lives have been disrupted totally by war or natural disaster.

Liquid intelligence. A profound synthesis of ideas, the renaissance of the spirit which informs the ace. This profound act of Formulation arises not of its own accord, though. As in all the minor deck, it is the sequence which is most revealing. You can see how this card, the process it represents, is literally NEVER found otherwise than immediately following the defeat of the 5, where the intellect and body of ideas first meet and are utterly stumped by the inescapability, ineluctability and limitation of chronological time. The 6, then, is the Translogical answer to the problem of Time. It seeks to establish through Divine epiphany a Book of Enduring Truth.

I've always understood this to be the card of travel.  A journey from rough to smooth seas, literally or figuratively.  A transition period.

To me this card is a card of triumpth. New beginnings. Its a happy card. Alot of people disagree. To many its a card where the questioner is trying to run away from a problem and not face it. I don't see it that way at all.
