Envisage Reality -

do you hear the soft murmur?
that signals the awaken of life
as we adjust the fuzzy blur that clouds over our eyes
to the song that's said to raise hell and damnation
to the moves that are bred
to conquer the desires thirsting off sensations
in a galaxy spread in herds of species
to a world we call - to the reality they've sold
in the dream we share
the door opening dimensions exposing our fantasies
unlocking the hunger leading to the other world of comatose
a song preaching the power burning incense of infinity
a wish forever seeking the soul of immortality
envisioning the world throughout a different way
the beauty that enhances within the spirit calls the game
and than a miracle sparks the scattered stars
a wish is granted a billion light-years too far
but in the hope and faith
to those who still believe
that even in the midst of a questioned world
we can still find the virtue of magic
and peer through the eyes of a dream
in the years of hope, greed, despair, and love
we climb a mountain of maintenance
and pray a wish on the stars above
despite the pride that hungers
the knowledge that conquers
and the freedom that rings
we still devote our lives
to simply believing the reality that sings in a dream.

Decision too late

Mark Jackson
left this town
Searching for something
he never found

He was known
for he kept the peace
Wouldn't hit a woman
not in the least

He was respected
And he respected others
From the big business men
To the poor little mothers

But he was alone
Alone in his mind
He was real sad
But he was still kind

He felt sorry for himself
He loved his fellow man
But he never had
His own woman

He was raised poor
Mother with two jobs
He protected his sisters
And was there to stop thier sobs

His mother got lucky
And rolled in the dough
They were getting better off
They were not common joes

His manners went on
Into high school
Were males mouths hang open
with a little strand of drool

He kept to hisself
A loner at heart
With a blank expression
And a cup from the 'mart

Then he saw it
A man hit a girl
He was enraged
His life was in a whirl

He slowly got up
And said "You better stop that"
The man just laugh
And said "Go kiss a doormat"

Mark walked over
and punched him in the gut
The man fell hard
Right on his fat butt.

After that
His life began to change
He talked more
He was a name

He went on to protect
All the women around
But he just wanted to hear
One nurtureing sound

He liked women of course
Some guys thought he was gay
Whenever they said this
They knew they would pay

He was too shy
Kept losing his chance
Always was scared
But wanted romance

He decide one night
it would never be
He had one way out
And that was the key

He used the key
And opened the case
Took out the gun
And took a taste

The school mourned him
That next day
They were in shock
And they were in pain

They didn't know
what went through his mind
Most of them thought
He was a fun loving guy

As the crowd dispersed
There stood alone
The girl of his dreams
And a teardrop shown

Poetry is the thread
that weaves itself
throughout life binding
the sane with the insane
the imaginary with the real
the light with dark
the half with the whole.
Poetry is the stitching
that holds the cloth together
and I am the tailor
who makes the garment fit.

Midnight Ride

I'll be there
after midnight's passing
to ride the backside of night
through with you.

But then, I'll be up again
only to leave again
before the sun
dries out the dew...
...and
your husband
gets home.
