Anomaly

Our love was an anomaly,
That wasn't supposed to happen,
That was never meant to be.

Together we were black and white.
But our love slowly grew,
And blossomed on sight.

All the dreams we shared,
Suddenly became one,
And we two became paired.

But as time went on,
We slowly grew apart,
Our love faded with the dawn.

Slowly our dreams slipped away.
I became the night,
While you became the day.

Now we are opposite, and it's clear to me,
Our love was an anomaly,

The other day,
I was driving in my car,
And I came across a counrty radio station,
That was playing a song that reminded me of you.
It reminded me of a time when we were together,
And how everyday was perfect when I was with you.

The days that seemed to roll on forever,
And the nights that time stood still for us.
All of the special days,
And all of the others.

But after a while, it all ended.
My life became a wreck after that.
It was hard to live without you at first,
But I managed to survive,
Each day I got stronger and stronger.
But I still missed you.

It took a long time, but I realized something.
I loved you with all of my heart spirit and soul.
And nobody will ever be able to replace you.

You were my first true love,
And I will always love you.

In my mind you are on a pedistal,
And I will never again be able to reach you.
Even though I will never be able to be with you again,
There will always be a special place for you,
In my heart.

Love is a leaping ram
The crunch of leaves
A silent rain.

In thundering roars
In verdant cries.

Love tastes like strawberries in summer
Like ocean spray
Like morning dew.

Love seeks itself
The world

Night’s Lullaby

Tick. Tock.
The seconds go by.
The night is nearing, the day stops hearing.
        All the whole earth heaves a sigh,
And watches the sunlight dance in the sky.
        As the day is ending, darkness comes,
And all of your courage begins to run.
        It sees you there so unaware
Of things that stop, and look, and stare.
        You make a wish on a twinkling star,
Not knowing what watches you from afar.
        Up high in the sky the night it thick,
And will swallow you up in it’s soupy mix.
        But before long night is gone,
And morning birds begin their song.
And sunlight breaks over the farthest hill...
Reaching inside your window sill.
        So you can wake from your nighttime dream,
and once again... 
        things are as they seem.
