Rocking Chair

Grandpa burned his rocking chair;
he says tomorrow's gone.
I touched, through tears, his silver hair.
He waved 'move on'.

I saw his dreams in maple smoke;
wishes wished and feared.
first day, first school, first cracker joke.
first love, first lust, last tear.

On wind went south, grey rocking soul;
cold charcoal scattered dawn.
And all the man I'd ever known
moved on.

Grandpa loved that rocking chair;
he'd rock and pipe and sing.
I wish but that love could demonstrate
what tomorrow brings.

Splintering Hush

Deep in the meadows
Dark and silvery
My soul wanders alone
Yearning for peace, solitude, serenity
All lost in the volcano of their own despair
One licking flame
With ruby tongue
Slashes the silver in the darkness
Splintering hush
Cutting the very womb of silence
Into a million laments
Loud and terrible
Oh, one longing ineffable
Crashing itself into the very face of torment
Dying, weeping, praying
For a glimpse, Presence, Union
The sound of misery
A farewell kiss to Muse
Everlasting
This agony and rapture

TWO POINTS OF LIGHT

Bigger is better, and smaller is dark
The big is so bright it darkens the rest
To look at the small, look to the right
Dark is shining, doing its best
Being just one of these two points of light

Which is true gold, the big or the small?
Axis amongst but hiding behind
The sun surface red with granules so bright
Riding the surface, time out of mind
Come these two riders, these two points of light

The big is atop a wave of pure hell
Riding and soaring, week into hour
Tossed up on high, pouring out might
Shaped of a seed, this is the flower
This is the king of these two points of light

Big is aligned, the axis is straight
Polar through smaller, field surrounding
Aloft on the surface, at quite a great height
Revolving about, dancing and bouncing
Star in a star, holding two points of light

Down at once, yet comes out on top
The balance of power is equal yet odd
Big and small are balanced just right
Small holds the key to life and to God
Deeper than dark, these two points of light

Down in the small is areas vast
Space for the world, yet all in the dark
The light pouring forth is coming from night
Heat and rage are rending this ark
This goes to the bottom of two points of light

Thinking of what is down in the dark
How can dark glow, illuminate life
Green goes through blue and comes out in white
Molding, transforming, pouring out strife
Dark star is part of these two points of light

Corner above is the heavenly glow
Innocent, pale, and nothing to show
Yet one held inside is flying a kite
Aloft upon breezes quick and then slow
Blue sky within these two points of light

Down below, but above the blue sky
The grasses are greener on the other side
Time out of mind is longer than night
Night passed through once and forced in the tide
Which, pulled by the moon, held two points of light

Within holds the rice a bluish nice haze
This blows all about, suspended on air
We can all breathe if we look at it right
Shaped by two Hands, a heavenly pair
This is so perfect, these two points of light

Why is one dark and the other so good?
Is dark the one wrong or too odd by its look?
It is quite too hot and much too much bright
Yet no light comes forth, written in book
Dimmer is strong, strong points of light

Held in the dark is also the bright
Captured amongst all the red seaweed
The breeze is a poster, a photo, a sight
Troubling strains of purple and green
Drift in and out of two points of light

Ribbons entwirl this enveloping pair
Big chews on dark, showing its teeth
Heaven inside, the glow isn't, not really quite
Like nirvana for us, is hot for us meek?
Turned upside-down by two points of light

Spend time in the big and then in the small
Fall out of the ball and into the sphere
Glowing below is the sun, direct out of night
How dark is the one who looks in the mirror!
Seeing itself, two more points of light

Why is there two, a celestial pair?
One purple, one orange, and one in between
Twirling like batons, or raging their fight
Is big and small, seen and unseen
Look in the middle of two points of light

Questions are looking and wondering deep
Held in the answers is nothing at all
Why the mirror, the axis, the night?
The big is for you, for me is the small
Lets fight for our piece of these two points of light

Betrayal of Time

Time betrayed us
By pushing too far
It forced us to change
Into a different thing
When we weren't willing
It never lied
But only mimicked the truth
Thr truth made by some
And denied by many
We tried not to see
Exactly what happened
We pushed it away
And burried it deep
But it wouldn't go away
Or try to hide
It was there forever
And changed it all
Nothing can stop
The betrayal of time
We can beg for mercy
Or give our souls
It will not cease
Or give up control
It's a betrayal of time
And we have been betrayed
All of our lives

international news

my hand doesn't appeal
to me anymore.
after having learned the lesson
of its dissection.
i know find the craft rude
and flamboyant full
of mockery, staring back
at me-

the new
buffoon.
