cafe nowhere

her life,
she held in her hand
as one does a child.
her glassy eyes
lit with ecstacy,
eyes
excreting old makeup
and junk
excrement that turns
beautiful faces
Into grim, grinning masks.
This is what you wanted right,
venom from the pusher
This is what you fucked me for.
tossing her her life
so she took it
and burnt it
on a dirty spoon.

Falling
Falling
Through darkness deep
Crying for hope
Crying for peace
Wishing the world
Could hear my plea
Praying
Praying
For Victory

Confusion,
playing in my mind.
You said you trust me,
don't wanna lose me
but do you know me?

Do you see my problems,
my emotions,
my fears?
And most importantly
my insecurities?

Could you care for me
do you want to?
And is it worth
even letting you
try?

I fear life,
I fear love!
I fear weakness
because strength
is all that's kept me alive.

Everyone demands
all my attention
my time
my support,
and a helping hand.

Don't they see?
Do you see?
That my shoulders
tremble from the weight
of their combined sorrows?

And if I stumbled
would you catch me?
Because I will
soon.
Can you deal with that?

Can you handle
my pain?
My sorrow,
my fears?
When they're so strong?

Somewhere in the Night

Somewhere in time
Somewhere in space
I knew where I was going
I thought I knew my place

There once was a day
I held you close to me
Living in your heart
Where I always longed to be

Used to have it all
Your arms is where I'd stay
The world at my doorstep
And I threw it all away

Now I'm on the road
Not knowing where this will end
I don't know where I'm going
Only knowing where I've been

Charleston, Baltimore
Always on the move
Of all the things I've got
One of them still ain't you

Tomorrows another town
Traveling still more miles
The most valuable baggage with me
Is the memory of your smile

Somewhere on the road
During the still of the night
My dreams will allow me
Again to hold you tight

I'll stare into the darkness
Without a word to say
Wipe away the tears
And try to hide the pain

Did You Ever?

Did you ever love someone
And know that didn't care?
Did you ever feel like crying
And know you'd get nowhere?

Did you ever look into their eyes
And say a little prayer?
Did you ever look into their heart
And wish you were there?

Did you ever see them dancing
With the lights turned down low
Did you ever whisper "I love you"
But I'll never let them know?

And when it starts You'll know
You'll wonder day and night
Because you see my friend
You're losing them
No matter how hard you fight

Life is fine but it hurts so much The price you pay is high
If I could choose between life and love
I think I'd rather die

And so my friend, don't fall in love
You'll be hurt before you're through
You see, my friend
I fell in love with you
