Babylon 5 is the last of the Babylon stations. Babylons 1 and 2 were sabotaged, Babylon 3 blew-up, and Babylon 4 was taken back 1000 years to fight in the Shadow War of that time. Babylon 5 went online in 2257 under the command of Jeffrey Sinclair, and the Earth Alliance. It served as a United Nations style place where the 5 major powers, and the League of Non-Aligned worlds, could work out their differences peacefully. In the year 2260, after further corruption on Earth, Babylon 5 succeeded from the Earth Alliance as an independent state, under Minbari protection. Since then it has become a key part of the fight against the Shadows, and the base of operations for the Earth resistance and Army of Light.

Babylon 4 is the fourth station of the 5 station Babylon project. It's purpose was to serve as a place of commerce and diplomacy, located in sector 14. Just after coming online Babylon 4 mysteriously disappeared. It was later learned by the Grey Council that Babylon 4 was taken back in time 1000 years to serve as our command station in the Shadow War. When our ships encountered Babylon 4, 1000 years ago, we had no idea where it came from. We now know it was built in the future and taken back in time to help us in that great war. Without Babylon 4, three times as many Shadow ships would have survived to fight in the current Shadow war. Valen, who the Council knows was Jeffrey Sinclair, was found on this station 1000 years ago, and used it to fight the Shadows.

The Shadow Cruiser is the standard Shadow captial ship. Extremely powerful, it strikes fear into any who see it. Many have reported that a scream can be heard in your mind as it passes by. The Shadows are older than even the Vorlons, and use a similar technology as they do. Using organic technology and a powerful weapon targeting system, it is a feared opponent. The Shadows have reemerged from their "sleep" and have begun to conquer the galaxy

The Vorlon Cruiser is the mainstay of the Vorlon Empire. Implementing far advanced organic technology, and tactical systems than any of the younger races. The most recent sightings of this type of Vorlon ship was in 2257 just after Babylon 5 went online, and when the Vorlons openly struck at Shadow targets in 2261.

The Vorlon Transport is used throughout the Vorlon Empire as a means of transport and a powerful foe in battle. Much smaller than the Vorlon Cruiser, it is implements similar organic technology, and tactical systems. Ambassador Kosh had a Vorlon Transport which he used as his personal ship, and was indeed a part of him.

The Minbari Cruiser is the mainstay of the Minbari Federation. Uses advanced tactical and engine systems. Contains a large docking bay, and carries full complement of Minbari fighters. Most advanced of the younger races, ancient Minbari ship design similar to present Minbari Cruiser. The Grey Council uses such a ship as the council's command ship.

The Omega class Earthforce Destroyer is the mainstay of the Earth Alliance. One of the first Omega class destroyers to be built was the USS Agamemnon, commanded by Captain John Sheridan. Originally used for the protection of Earth and it's colonies, it has since been used by the corrupt leaders of the Earth Alliance to intimidate and insure loyalty under the new order.

The Earthforce Star Fury fighter was used for many years as the standard short-range military fighter. It was replaced in the year 2260 with the Thunderbolt Star Fury, which is capable of atmospheric flight, and a two person cockpit.

The Narn Heavy Cruiser was once the mainstay of the Narn Regime, before it's fall to the Centauri. During the final attack on the Narn home world, the majority of the Narn Heavy Cruisers were attacked and destroyed by Shadow ships during an ambush in Centauri space. Any remaining ships were hunted down by the Centauri, however a handfull were known to have survived, and have been sighted near Babylon 5 to undergo repairs. With the restoration of the Narn Regime a new fleet is being built.
