| So, after the race we cleaned up and relaxed for a while. Then we headed to my sister's house for dinner.
When we got to my sister's house, the power was out! Plus, they lit a fire in the fireplace, but forgot to open the flu, so the house had been all smokey. Luckily, the fire alarms didn't go off because the power was out. So there was a nice fire in the fireplace and candles burning all over the house. The turkey was done, but they were hoping for the power to come back on soon to finish cooking the rest of the dinner. Happily, the power did come on after about an hour and a half.
Dinner was yummy! We had turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, spinach, bread, and gravy. And the wine was flowing. For dessert we had apple and pumpkin pie. After dinner, dh fell asleep watching football. Then my sis returned her kids to their dad while I watched Survivor. When my sis returned, we played a game Apples to Apples. One person (the judge) picked a subject card and then each player had to choose a card from their hand that best fit the topic according to the judge. It was fun. I lost badly in the first round, but won the second time. Then off to home and I passed out!
Friday was a lazy and hung-over day. Too much food and way too much drink. Ugh. We finally cleaned up around dinner time and went out to eat. Tried the new Cuban restaurant near us. It was good. Nice choices on the menu. We were going to go see Harry Potter, but I was too beat. We watched The Interpretor at home instead.
On Saturday, I watched lots of TV. I ran on the treadmill using the Applachian Trail e-course. It's 4.5 miles with 0 - 5.5% incline. Not bad. I did the whole thing plus a 5 minute warm-up and 5 minute cool-down in 51:22, 5.24 miles total.
On Sunday, after lazing around some more, and watching more TV, I decided I was ready for my long run. I layered up with a long sports bra, long sleeve shirt, light fleece zip up, gloves, and my baseball cap. Skipped the headband and windbreaker as it was about 50*. I used the camelbak again, but kept it tight and tried not to play with it. I ran 7 miles in 1 hour and 10 minutes and change. My new longest run. (Have a feeling I'll be saying that a lot.) I felt pretty good during the run. My legs were a little cold during the run. (Windier than I thought.) I was pretty exhausted, sore, and sweaty at the end. I had a half a peanut butter sandwich to refuel, and then cleaned myself up.
I made some good pasta with meat sauce for dinner and ate too much of it! Guess I was hungry after 7 miles.
So that's my long weekend. Now back to work!!!
