21 June 2002 - Hi all! Sorry for the delay in getting some more pictures posted, but war is hell and we have been very busy. Please enjoy them and hope to see you all real soon.
22 April 2002 - Life is good! The weather here in Afghanistan is getting nicer; however the dust continues to be a problem. We have almost entirely renovated the old power plant and are now moving towards getting our plant on line. The little things are starting to get taken care of as well. We are giving each other haircuts and having our laundry done by the quartermaster. For almost the entire first month on the ground the local Afghans were trying to sell us bayonets, and the children were asking for our pens. "Pen! Pen!" was the usual greeting from every child along the path to chow. Now that the children have exhausted the pen supply, they are trying to sell them back to us for a dollar. I would say our job here is almost done, I mean capitalism has surely taken hold. Well got to run. Talk to you all later.
11 April 02 - Hello from lovely Afghanistan!!! I'm finally here and things are going well, no one is currently shooting at us and our living conditions are moving in a positive direction. I plan to start adding photos of my trip in the near future. So check back after a couple of days. Hope to hear from you soon and Thanks for stopping by.
17 March 02 – Hello All, Looks like it’s finally going to happen. I’m outta here, I’ll be in Afghanistan for the next year or so. No email yet, but may have some after a while. So if you don’t here from me, don’t worry. I’m just fighting the Taliban. Talk to you later, and have a good one. GOD BLESS!
24 February 02 – Hi All Just returned from a wonderful vacation in Florida with the folks. Got lots of Golfing in and spent some time with my twin brother. Looks like another trip out of the country is in the works, stay tuned for more information.
01 February 02 - Well, I guess by now most of you think that I have fallen off of the planet. Over the last couple of months I've felt that way, but things are getting back to normal. The good news is I won't be leaving the country in the immediate future, but remains a option in the coming months. I'm on my way to Sarasota, FL for a couple of weeks of fun in the sun, and hopefully a couple of record games of golf. Well thanks again for stopping by and hope you come back soon.
11 November 01 - Hello, and Happy Veterans Day. I'm currently in VA, at Fort Belvoir. Had the day off today and went to the Pentagon to get a closer look at the devastation. I can't even begin to describe how much damage was done up there. At my vantage point today I just stood there in awe with about a hundred others. Makeshift shrines to the victims were located around the area, with personnel items and notes from family and friends. Can't we all just get along?
31 October 2001 - Happy Halloween!!! Looks like winter has gotten here early for a lot of us. Oh Well, hang in there. I'll be in and out of the area pretty much through the middle of December. So if you are trying to reach me, good luck. I've changed my email address to bobluck@msn.com this change is effective immediately and also applies to MSN Messenger. Well talk to you later, and be good.
23 September 2001 - The excitement just keeps coming. I went fishing for salmon this weekend and caught my very first one. I posted a picture in the photo section of the site. Other then that same old stuff going on around here. If you get a chance and have a broad band connection, I suggest checking out www.adcritic.com and www.limewire.com. You can definitely find some cool stuff at both these sites.
15 September 2001 - Hi All, Welcome Back. As the events of the last week continue to unfold my prayers and thoughts are with the many families that have been affected by this horrible tragedy. As word of possible action against the perpetrators of this heinous crime comes to us, I can only hope that any actions that we take are seen by the rest of the world as justified and warranted.
22 August 2001 - Wow, can you believe it? I had a once in a lifetime experience the other day. I had the opportunity to do a tandem jump with the US Army Golden Knights parachute team. These guys are truly the best in the word, and I fell very lucky to have had a chance to make the jump. We loaded up the plane and climbed to 12,500 feet. We then jumped out and free fell for an entire minute. I've posted a couple of pictures on the photo page.
