My Parents

After All These Years

Nineteen years ago I made her what she is
And she spent the rest of time making me...
Twenty years of bad dream hugging and back seat fighting days
Made their mark on me.
I remember when she left me,
And when she turned I cried.
Now those suitecases and that big unknown are only yesterday;
Growing up was just a moment.
"Where do I turn, who do I run to know?"
I asked but now I know the answer's me.
Still, she seems to know the world in a way I never saw
In a way I never see even though I've left the greeness just as she.
