Dream A Dream |
There lived a frog within a pond
Upon a pretty lily pad
But lonesome was the little frog
For not a froggy friend he had
He’d been so busy catching flies
And lady bugs to eat
He hadn't noticed all the friends
Who lived right down the street
So one day when the little frog
Had eaten all day long
The froggy said unto himself,
"I think I’ll sing a lonely song"
And then to froggy’s great surprise
New friends all gathered near
And lonesome was the frog no more
His song, his friends had come
to hear!

Pretty Polly pony
Prances all around
Playing like a princess
Pretending with her crown
Pretty Polly pony
With her precious pony tail
Politely picks petunias
And puts them in her pail
Polly pony ponders
Why petunias she prefers
Perhaps because they’re scented
Like the perfume in her purse

If
Friends…
If friends
were flowers I’d pick you
To be my special
friend
We’d linger
in the garden
‘Til the sun
was setting dim
If friends
were rainbows in the sky
I’d reach
across to you
Together we
would find
The pot of
gold (and share it too!)
If friends
were snowflakes falling down
I hope you’d
land on me
Because you
are as rare
As any snowflake
there could be
If friends
were raindrops, pale and blue
That shimmer
as they fall
I’d stand
out in the pouring rain
To catch them
one and all

Seven
Silly Spiders
Seven silly
spiders
Swimming in
the sun
Splash in
sparkling fountains
While squirting
water guns
Spawning with
their spinnerets
Strong webs
that look like twisters
Who’d have
ever guessed
That these
were seven spider sisters?

Do you like
heart
shapes, as I do,
that come in every
rainbow hue?
Do you like
pink ones,
green, or blue?
A bunch of
hearts,
or just a few?
A heart is
such
a pretty shape,
reminding us to love,
not hate
I think that
hearts
are nice to see.
If I had four
I’d give you
three!

Dream a dream
Of things so sweet
Of rainbow ice cream
Of candy treats
Dream a dream
Of angels above
Of a smile’s gleam
Of a mother’s love
