Searching Eyes

I was born and raised in Vancouver until age 19 when I moved to Prince George. After 7 years or so, I moved to Quesnel. I lived in Quesnel for about 22 years doing various jobs. When the company I worked for closed I had to make some tough life-altering decisions as this was also the time my marriage dissolved. I took a huge leap and decided to go to College to get training as a Medical Transcriptionist. That College was in Vancouver, so I prepared for a move that I thought was going to be just for the duration of the course. However, once I arrived in the Lower Mainland, I realized that this is where I was going to stay.

During the last 3 months in Quesnel before moving, I was off "car by 4'ing" the backroads of Quesnel and surrounding areas. I logged over 15,000 miles on my little '93 Taurus and was blessed with seeing an abundance of wildlife. Black bear, Cinnamon Bear, Brown Bear and a Grizzly Mom with two cubs. Numerous deer and rabbits. Many sightings of moose and one particularly magical experience where I was about 15 feet away from a young moose for almost 10 minutes while he watched me and continued to drink and eat shoots of grass from the marsh right by the road. Two sightings of Great Gray Owls and once I accidently interrupted two wolves who were chasing a young moose. I made sure I had lots of pictures and many wonderful memories of that area before moving to the big city of Vancouver.

At the beginning of August 2002, I packed my car and moved to Vancouver where I took the 9-month Medical Transcription Program at Vancouver Community College. I graduated with honors with a 4.03 GPA. During the time at school, I lived in the West End about a block from my youngest kid. After graduating I worked at Vancouver General in the Emergency Room as a clerk and then at B.C. Children's hospital as a casual transcriptionist. I bid on many jobs during that year and a half as a casual and finally got a posting to Riverview as a full-time transcriptionist. I commuted for a very short while from Vancouver to Coquitlam and then moved out to Port Coquitlam where I currently live.

So far in life, my interests are photography, music, writing, native artwork/spirituality, and traveling. I finally accomplished a 20+ year dream of putting together a cookbook from the recipes that appeared in the Quesnel Cariboo Observer during the 12 years I did the recipe column for them. Another time consuming hobby of mine is playing on "There.com". It is an interactive 3D 'game'. It is more than a game. If you ever get in 'There', look me up. I play Shirakon. Hope to see you 'There'. There

My latest venture is BUCKABACKGROUND.COM. I am currently using a Nikon D60 with various lenses. The site is currently under construction so please check back often.
