Wallace & Gromit (British television series)

Allright. Wallace is a man, Gromit is a (very intelligent) dog, and they're both clay. Wallace spends his time inventing things and Gromit spends his time reading the newspaper (instead of the more obvious things a dog would do with a paper), and getting Wallace out of things like 'The Wrong Trousers'.

Coming out of Britain, the three episodes of Wallace & Gromit, "A Grand Day Out", "The Wrong Trousers" & "A Close Shave", have taken England by storm. Having been in London a short time ago, Wallace and Gromit memorabilia is everywhere. (and don't forget Shaun, the cutesy little sheep who pops up in the third episode, who is the most popular backpack around. Just ask Baby Spice Girl Emma.)

"A Grand Day Out" takes place on a Bank Holiday Weekend (like labour day weekend here), Wallace and Gromit want to find somewhere to go. They decide to have Tea and Cheese (Wallace's favourite food, the man has an obsession with it, really) and (HORRORS!) find no cheese in the house. They decide to take a trip to a place with cheese. And where is the best place to find cheese? Well, the moon of course you dummies! SO they build and rocket and go to the moon. Riot, huh?

"The Wrong Trousers" is about a disgruntled Grommit who believes he is being replaced when Wallace rents out the spare room to a penguin. The penguin is actually an evil (EVIL!) robber who plots to use Wallace and his new rocket pants in order to steal a diamond. The penguin dresses up like a chicken (ie, sticks a rubber glove on his head .) This one is a nail-biter, so I won't give away the ending.

"A Close Shave" features the aforementioned cute sheep Shaun, who is mistakenly..umm..removed from his wool in an unfortunate knit-o-matic accident. (however, don't be alarmed, they give him the sweater to wear. No gratuitous nudity here, sheep lovers!) There's an evil mechanical dog involved, who is rounding up all the local sheep to corner the sweater and dog-food market.

The series is cute, but I don't know if you'll see it again here in Canada any time soon. My advice: accost Baby Spice and take her Shaun Backpack. That is, unless I get to it first. :)
