YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN HIM THEN
Some people age the way that they should,
But, in some, drastic changes occur---
No one has solved
Why the person involved
Bears little resemblance to the person they were. You should have seen him then,
You should have seen him when he was young---
Hunky and handsome and hot.
And he seemed virtually unaware
That both females and males would ogle and stare
And some fell in love on the spot. You should have seen him then,
You should have seen him the way he was---
He looked the essence of "stud".
But often those he'd excite and thrill---
They were the ones who'd reject him at will,
Fearing he was too rich for their blood. Then something must have happened---
What it was, I've never known;
For up until thirty your looks are God's,
And after that, they're your own.You should have seen him then,
You should have seen him when he was young---
One never dreamed how he'd age!
But when one's caught in the clutch of youth,
One never thinks of the obvious truth:
The prime of life's merely a stage.
