Sensual, talented leading lady of Paris stage and French and Italian films. An honour graduate of the Conservatoire de Paris, she was a member of the Comédie-Française from 1954 to 1957 and also performed on radio and TV and in Paris cabarets. In films since the mid-50s, she has often come up with solid performances and won several acting awards, including a Venice Festival prize for Trois Chambres à Manhattan (1965). She won a César, the French Oscar, for her performance in Dorteur Françoise Gailland / No Time for Breakfast (1975). She married Italian actor Renato Salvatori in 1962.
