Daniel Green Slippers

You may not believe this, but almost every week I get requests for more pictures in Daniel green slippers. I am always pleased to find out that there are people out there as obsessed as I am with some of these items from the past. I am lucky enough to have a gold pair and a white pair, and I love wearing them.

How did this start? Three influences I can remember. The first was my friend Jimmy V’s mother. She was a waitress, and worked nights to help make ends meet. I found myself at Jimmy’s house often in the afternoon doing homework while his mother got ready for work. She would always be wearing gold slippers with black RHT stockings. Sometimes she just wore her slip, but often a house coat just like the one I am wearing as well.

As I got older I worked at a local market. There was a beauty salon a few doors down, and all of the women who worked there came into the store all the time. Most of them wore shoes, but a few, the owner and 2 of the olders beauticians, wore slippers just like these, always with stockings or pantyhose on

Then there was the original April, who would walk past us playing ball in the street, or into the grocery store wearing stockings and slippers, with her huge hair styles and heavy makeup.

It just shows to go ya, sexy is in the eye of the beholder

Then I went from slippers to these mules with 6 inch heels, a drastic change.

This was quite a day—I had taken a few days off and was waiting for the cable guy to come when they called and cancelled. Then my mother called a decided to have her hair done rather than have lunch with me, and I was looking at a checkbook that hadn’t been balanced in 4 months. Just then the mailperson came, with a package, and inside was this amazing slip! I was inspired, and voila, April appears.

So I balanced my check book, washed 10 pairs of stockings, organized my shoes (hence the 6 inch heels…), all in my housecoat and slippers.

Oh I did some other stuff as well
