You gotta tell me how you stopped us, Burn said. You owe me.
Goth glanced up from his paperwork. Burn stared back at him from the cell. I had help, he said, as if that explained everything.
From who? Burn asked.
Goddess and Larry, Goth replied. She controlled your mind, and he caused the earthquake.
How? Burn wanted to know.
Jumped from the top of the Tartian Towers, Goth said. Nasty fall. Hell be okay, though. Probably.
So...are you and Goddess...together? Burn asked slowly.
Goth laughed. Hardly. She comes and goes as she pleases, just like Larry. They only help out when I ask real nice.
So thats how you caught us?
Goth shook his head. I changed my view. See, I used to go after you four thinking I just had to catch you.
And this time? Burn asked.
This time, I was just trying to kill you, Goth replied. Two out of four aint bad, either.
Two? Burn asked.
Damien and Karen, Goth said. Larry snapped her neck when she tried to shoot him. Damien shot himself. Jess is over in the womens prison. G will watch her.
Whatever happened to Lisa? Burn asked.
Goth shrugged. She left, man.
There was silence for a moment. You know, I did it for her, Burn said. I never wouldve joined Damien if he didnt have control over Jess.
Yeah, I know, Goth said. But we both know you were still wrong for it.
So how long am I in for? Burn asked.
Goth looked at his watch. As of now, youre free. Its midnight again.
Burn blinked. Huh?!
You were a cop once, Goth said, reaching for the keys. You wont learn anything by staying in there. He unlocked the cell and opened the door. He tossed the keys to Burn. Go and let Jess out. Im going home, and then to bed.
Epilogue
The next day, Goth retired from the police force in Yankers. The day after that, he left town for good. Many say that Goddess went with him. Others say she went to become an actress in Hollywood. Either way, a second Club Olympus opened in Orlando, Florida, three months later. This was the first in a successful chain of clubs.
Burn changed his name to Flame and left Yankers with Jess. They now live in a mansion just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. They have three kids and no complaints.
Lisa Marginoff wrote a book a few years later called Wild Nights in Yankers. It instantly became a best-seller. She split the profit into thirds and sent two portions to unknown parties. When asked about them, she would only say that they went to her personal saviors.
Vinnie Vance was arrested on the night of the explosion and charged with several counts of murder, as well as destruction of public property and drug trafficking. He was last seen in a prison outside of Arkansas, where he became cellmates with a known killer named Big Lou. When asked about his cellmate, Big Lou would only say that they were very, very happy together. There is some talk of marriage, but Vinnie denies it all.
