Faeries are at home in Nature. Some say the faeries are disappearing and the worlds are moving farther and farther apart. Maybe this is because we keep putting up malls and buildings on land that used to be Faerie land. But you can keep the spirit of the Fae close with a garden created just for them.
It doesn't matter if all you have is a windowsill with a few pots, a patio or just a small patch in your yard to create a faerie garden. It doesn't have to be large. We garden on our balcony where there is an adjacent tree. Any spot where there is Nature will draw Faeries. They appreciate our efforts -large or small- to create places for Nature.
Leave one place in your garden where it can grow wild. The faeries like wild places. You can plant flowers that faeries especially like but they will always visit an area that is left wild for them. Let this space grow whatever it will grow --weeds, wild grasses, whatever. If you are doing container gardening, you may want to leave a pot filled with soil but unplanted. Just set it next to the other pots and see what happens.
Tend your garden with joy and laughter. Faeries are attracted to laughter, esp. that of children. They are drawn to people who are enjoying themselves.
Hang a few birdfeeders. Faeries love birds and are drawn to their birdsong. You can attract wild birds to your faerie garden by hanging a few feeders for them. In our faerie garden we have a finch feeder and a hummingbird feeder. It is believed that faeries can shapeshift and have been known to take on the appearance of birds. In summer, all the parrotlets & budgies here get to spend time out on the balcony where their chirps draw the Fae close.
Faeries love shiny objects. You may want to place quartz crystals out in your garden. Quartz crystal can be especially helpful to plants that need a little extra energy. Those that have used quartz crystals find that plants they thought would die have been revived by the use of quartz. If you container garden, you can water your plants with quartz water. Prior to watering, charge a quartz crystal with intent for good healing energy in your garden and place in your watering container (glass is best). Let sit, preferably in the sun, for about 20 -30 minutes and then use water to water your plants.
