53. Benjamin4 Busey (Edward3, Paul2, Paul1, ElizabethA ?) was born Md ca 1760. He died 1825: in Carroll Co, Tn, at 65 years of age.
He married Lucy Morse or Moss ca 1784:. She died 1841: in Weakley Co, Tn. Lucy was a daughter of Ebeneezer Morse/Moss.
Lucy is shown on the Weakely Co., Tenn, Occupant Entry Record of Land Surveys dated 1827-1833, with 50 acres in Range 1, Section 5, southwest of John O'Neal's. She also appeared in the 1830 census as a resident of Weakley Co, Tenn. Ben: Busey was listed as being between 16 and 50 years of age and an inhabitant of Montogmery Co, Md., on 30 Aug 1777, along with Chas., Paul, Edwd. and Henry Busey on the list of Zadock Magruder.
A plat was measured and laid out to Benjamin Busey on 6 Dec 1784 for 600 acres on the north side of Enoree River. On 7 May 1787, Benjamin was granted a plat of 675 acres on "Buffalow Creek the waters of Enoree River" in Spartanburg Co, SC (according to a 14 Dec 1791 deed of sale of 170 acres to George Sissell (P351)). Benjamin is shown in location Book C dated 1785-1788 as owning 675 acres on Buffalo creek of the Enoree River.
He was drawn for a December 1789 court petit jury in Spartanburg which heard a slander case. Benjn Busy was in the Ninety-Six District of Spartanburgh County, South Carolina for the 1790 census with a household of one male upward of 16 years, one male under 16 years, 3 free white females and one slave. He was enumerated between Lucy Thomson and Wm Moore. In 1800, Benjamin and his family were still in Spartanburg Co.
On 7 Mar 1801, Eben. Moss sold 150 acres on Two-Mile-Creek to Benj. Busey (H280). This deed was witnessed by Obadiah Moss and Levi Crow. Agnes Moss, wife also appeared and signed by mark "A". Another 50 acres was conveyed on 23 March 1801 (H288).
Benjamin's last know land transaction in South Carolina was on 6 Sept 1805 when he sold 160 acres on Two-mile Creek to James Stone. Benjamin made a purchase in Caldwell Co, Ky. in 1818, and obtained a land grant of 200 acres on Piney fork in Livingston Co, Ky in 1822. He had witnessed a deed of his son's there in 1815. He wrote his will 30 May 1822 and it was probated in June 1825 in Carroll Co., Tenn., where he had been living.

Sarah C. "Sally" Busey was born 1787. She died 27 Jul 1858: in Crittenden Co, Ky, at 71 years of age.
She married Levi Crow :. Levi was born ca 1781:. Possibly a son of William Crow who died in 1813
in Caldwell Co, KY, or of James Crow. Levi Crow apparently migrated to Crittenden Co, KY, and then to Weakley Co, TN.

Zillpha Or Zeltha Or Zillery Busey was born about 1789. She died aft 1840:. She
married Green Bethel ca 1808:. Green was born 14 Jul 1784: in Guilford Co, NC. (Additional notes for Green Bethel(94)) He died after 1830: in Carroll Co, Tn. Green
Bethell was a son of Sampson & Mary (Cantrell) Bethell. Information on this line provided by Carol & Jim Garde.
Zillpha was listed as the head of a family on the 1840 Census in Carroll Co, TN.
