He married Widow Fuller bef 1767:. Widow was born bef 1750:. She died after 1790:. In the 1790 census, Widow Fowler (sic) appears between Eli Fowler and William Cole in Upper Smithfield, Northampton Co, Pa. She had one male over sixteen, one under sixteen, and two females. ..
In 1788, Cornelius appears in the tax list of Northampton Co, Upper Smithfield Twp. with 52 acres, 2 horses and 3 cattle. Elia Fuller also appears with one cattle. They did not appear in 1785. Cornelius and Ely Fuller also appear in 1789, 1790 and 1792 tax lists. However, according to the 1790 census, where the "Widow Fowler (sic)" appeared, Cornelius was deceased by then. In 1793 and 1795, Elias and Ira appear in the tax lists. One tax list indicates that the 56 acres was warranted land (not yet deeded). [1789-1795 tax records read by Diane Broadhurst]
This Cornelius Fuller is of the right age to be the Cornelius Fuller who was on the muster roll of Provinial troops of New York, Dutchess County in 1758, aged 19 born in Connecticut (and therefore, born about 1739). Genealogies of the Mayflower Fullers have presented this Cornelius Fuller as a son of Cornelius and Patience (Chappel) Fuller, with this Fuller line going back to Barnstable, Mass (Mathew, Samuel, Samuel, Edward). If he were this Cornelius Jr., his siblings would be Lemuel, John, Chloe, Robert and Elijah, all presumably born in Colchester, CT. It is thought that the elder Cornelius died in Dutchess Co, NY. There was an Elijah Fuller who died in Putnam Co, NY in 1821 aged 77 (Putnam was formed from Dutchess in 1812). More research needs to be done to determine if our Cornelius is this Cornelius.
