Philippians 2:10-11 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

We are told that God has highly exalted the name of Jesus above every name on earth and in heaven. We know that Jesus is the one who has given the opportunity for all men to be redeemed through His shed blood as sacrifice for our sins. This clearly reveals that man can not do anything to redeem himself from the sin debt he owes. Many millions throughout the world have understood and accepted this sacrifice for their sins. Understanding the freedom we now have through Jesus we are released to worship Him.

Worship is the one of the few things mankind can do to express his gratification for being set free from the Law of Sin and Death. We know from the scripture in Philippians that one day everyone will bow down and worship the name of Jesus and proclaim Him as Lord. Even His adversaries like Satan will be present to make this proclamation. The question is not will we worship Jesus but when will we worship Jesus. Those who worship Him now will be spared the terrible Judgement of The Great White Throne. Those who choose to wait to worship will be judged according to their works and of course be cast into the Lake of Fire.

The worship of those who have been redeemed from destruction through Jesus Christ is a sweet savor to God The Father. This worship is voluntary and will mean much more than that of those who will be forced to bow down after the defeat of Satan and his forces.

Situations do not dictate our worship because Jesus went past the situation of the cross and humbled Himself to God’s will. Through bad and good times we can worship Jesus for all the things we have been given by His love and supreme sacrifice.

Knowing your fate if you were depending on your works for salvation, does it not make sense to worship the Lamb who was slain from the foundation of this world? As we worship Jesus then we get the right perspective of what truly is important in this world.
