      Sarah-dude ... (03-Jan-2000)

I combined the name of my favorite band with the name of it's singer...band=311 singer=Nick Hexum. My other nick (AnkhG) is the name of an ancient Egyptian symbol; the ankh means eternal life and G is the first initial of my last name. Thank you for your time. ;)

      Seabrz69July 17, 2000

i chose my name because i love the sea.....

i often identify with the wind that blows over the waters.....

never a place to call home....no root....no place of origin or destination...

an entirely mysterious prescence....even to itself...

      sexydevilboy 05-Dec-00

I chose my name because of my haircut. I have two forelocks that I kept long, the rest of my hair, I shaved off. I'm also very sexy, so there's the "sexy" part. Other than that, I know I'm the devil, so, that's how I got my name.

      Shaachen 08/14/02

probably like most people, I've used many names...too many it seems. ;) the problem with me is that every time I get a new email address or sign up for something online, I try and use something else and not close to someone else's. I'll just list them and give a short description ~_^
Puter's All Broken - just that, seems like something is always wrong with my computer
Raggok - character from a roleplaying game book (almost like a god) :D
        Puter's Are Fun - just something I thought up real quick for a service...wonder why I don't get emails...hehe
Shaachen - another character from a book I read and liked a lot
a few others that I can't remember too. ;) I should try and think up one that sums me up completely but that's a little hard at times :D...and yes, I like using emoticons too much.

      shadoefire1 12/07/00

I started to go by the name shadoe a while ago. I had a dream and heard this name being called. I have waist-length black hair and black eyes and when I was a kid I just wanted to blend into the background and not stand out in any way, so it seemed an appropriate nickname. Then one day I got a letter from the shaman of the Cheyenne council that said my spirit guide told them my name is Shadoefire- the dark shadow of the doe and the fire that burns within her. So I changed it to shadoefire, but still go by the name shadoe.

      Sharuga 08/17/00

My nick comes from a rather splendid fantasy novel called A Darkness at Sethanon by Raymond E. Feist. It is the third novel in a trilogy which I highly recommend. Anyway, the name is taken purely out of vanity. It is of course THE name of a Dragon. Not just any Dragon but the Golden Dragon who used to carry the Gods on her back. Sharuga, the Golden Dragon. Slightly inflated ego I fear but hey, when you're in cyberspace you gotta have something to fill it. Lots of love and furry shoeboxes.

        Yours in jelly,

        Sharuga

      Shawnee 11/13/00

Shawnee's Home Page at Yahoo Clubs

My grandmother went to the USA and on her arrival home I had just got a new tri-coloured stripy kitten. We couldn't think of a name so grandma suggested calling her Shawnee, which is indian for "little painted warrior" and because it suited her colouring. When Shawnee passed away in October 1999, I had just recently bought a computer and used her name as my nickname, not only in memory of my great little friend but also because deep inside each of us is a little warrior. The name itself gives me strength because of what it means origin wise and also because of what it means to me personally. Using this name keeps her spirit close to me always and only those who have lost a dear animal know how it feels to keep the memory alive.

      siberkat 12-Jan-2000

        The origin of siberkat...
Many years ago, I really loved the rock group YES. My favorite song was Siberian Khatru. When e-mail became popular (a couple of years ago or so), I knew right away what my "name" would be. It would be different, cool, & involve many things I liked, cats, music & something computer oriented. Hence the name siberkhat. However, because my provider only allowed 8 characters for my "name", I changed it to siberkat.

        Steven

      Sire Siteht 07/15/00

-Sire = Eris: Greek Goddess. Sister of Eros, god of love.

Siteht= Thetis : Nimph Very cool character. When starting on the Internet, I always used 'why' as my handle. It gave me a good line when people asked 'Why, 'why'' ? Why not.

But I feel, and I trust that I am not alone in this, that, eventually you need to find something more interesting and original. So looking through a greek mythological dictionary I chose names and characters I liked and respected and worked from there. Sire Siteht has become me. And I have become Sire Siteht.

        -Sire Siteht

As you think, so you are. As you imagine, so you become. Anon.

      Sir Galahad April 27, 2002

At Yahoo, my name is merely my name...but I get most of my mail (including the junk) at sir_galahad@hotmail.com. Sir Galahad was the knight who discovered the Holy Grail (and whose strength was as the strength of ten because his heart was pure). I try to embody those knightly principles in my own life, including the special vow of purity. Pure and simple.

        My question?
What was Galahad's first name, because Galahad was his "Sir" name?

      Smokestack Jones Oct. 16, 2000

        Hey Pat,

I was looking for a site with British first names for an elven character in my upcoming comic when I happened upon your site. Intrigued, I thought I'd answer your inquiry about my Net Name.

Well, I usually tell people that I just made it up out off the top of my head one day, but now that I think about it, I think there was an influence happening there. I had recently at the time developed an interest in the Blues. Chicago, Delta, St. Louis, you name it. That's probably where my name came from, at least subconsiously. After a short run as Basil Fawlty, I debuted my handle about 5 years ago.

I don't use it as much as I used to, but it's still in my email address just to keep it alive.

Thanks for the time. Take care.

      Spectare 07-Nov-00

I've always been interested in the supernatural. Ever since I was old enough to comprehend movies, I've been watching supernatural thrillers. As well, I have a certain militaristic aspect to my persona so Spectare (kind of a scary, inivisble, untouchable feel to it) just seemed like a natural choice. However, the real way to spell the name is Spectre. For originality's sake, I have changed it slightly. So Spectare stuck and now it is my web alias.

        Thanx,
        Spectare

      Spiceysunflower 29-Dec-00

My nick name came from the very early days of the Spice Girls. I am a big fan (don't laugh), and my friend and I had our own flower name; mine was sunflower and hers was mandarin (the flower from the fruit). So I thought adding spicey to the front would be cool....and I know spicey is spelt spicy, but 'spice'y refers to the Spice Girls.

        That's it....

      Spitfire500 10-Feb-2000

I got my AOL nick from a WWII book. The SPITFIRE was a funky little fighterplane that kicked Nazi ass and helped win the Battle of Britain.

My other nicks are variations of my favorite film Matrix.

        BTW: Kewl site!

      Starshade 11-Dec-2002

First my online name is Starshade. I didn't get it from anywhere, except my own brain. I started out with just Star, and wanted to add something to it; but, it took a while to figure out what. Well, I wanted it to sound kind of double-meaning. So, I chose something that would make the person, who saw the name, think twice. Since stars give off light, I chose shade, because it compliments the star in its meaning. The name can be taken many ways, but the reader must think about it, and that's all that counts. What it actually means, is controversial, and I don't think I want to tell what it really means. That would take all the mystery and fun out of things.

      Sunnyian 19-Aug-00

Lets see. My name is just regular "Sunny." I am a happy person usually, and get called Sunny a lot.. but, that is so dull. Sunny", very blah.. So I added a little zip to it. By adding "ian" to almost anything it makes the old, dull name sound kind of interesting and exotic.

SO that is how I came up with Sunnyian. Quite interesting, eh? But shhhh, only the people who read this know it. :)

      SweetSheDevil June 6, 2001

I'm not sure how I was really supposed to write you about MY net name (if there's a link on your home page or what...)

My real name is Celina and I often go by that, but since very few people are called Celina I have another net name. I love my real name, though, because it's so unique and I like the sound of it. I'm from a country with 5.1 million inhabitants (Denmark) so there is actually a possibilty that I'll meet someone I know when I'm surfing the net.

My net name is SweetSheDevil. The SheDevil part is inspired by a brand name "She Devil", which as far as I remember is goth inspired clothes and jewelery (can be bought in Hot Topic). I use the name because I'm into a lot of the gothic (and glam goth) culture...devils for example :o) and I've added "sweet" because I'm not a total bad-ass, into devil worshiping, or look goth...and I'm actually a sweet person ;o) Apart from that SheDevil can also be understood as something a little naughty/sexy...right?

        ;o)

I used to call myself "Alien C" on the net since I can spell it with all the letters in "Celina", but people didn't know my sex right away so I gave it up. I like changing my name. Life is a journey and I like my net name to reflect what going on inside me at the moment.

        Take care,

        SweetSheDevil
