Green Drazi... - 06/15/99 04:15:05

      Life and Happiness

I was going to choose Morden, but that was already taken on the BBS I wanted to join. So I decided to choose a name that B5 fans would find familiar, memorable, amusing, and would provide me with a humor schtick. So I chose Green Drazi. The rest is history. :)

Anathia: A world all its own...

How I found this site: You signed the Athens Tabloid Journal, thereby placing you among the absolutely most erudite members of society.
        Dear Patient Gardener,
I really loved your site. I dropped by to thank you for your guestbook signature in the ATJ book, and I ended up being enchanted. You have a really nice design: clean, plain, but elegent. Maybe you should consider becoming an Athens community leader?
If you think you might like to persue that, email me!
        Best wishes,
        GutterSnipe

      Beyond The Rim

For years I had used the nick Rhino on various different computer systems. After seeing three episodes of Babylon 5, I decided to log on to the internet and check out the WB B5 site (May 1996). Within 15 minutes I had followed the links to the official (but now defunct) BBS at Pathfinder.com.

Pathfinder was a pretty active place, so when I tried to sign up as Rhino, that name was already taken. Since I had just seen A Late Arrival From Avalon, where King Arthur had knighted G'Kar as Sir G'Kar, my second attempt to signup was ...

Sir Rhino fits me fairly well, for I like to think of myself as a gentleman, but when faced with a problem my natural reaction is to slam into it with everything I've got, and if that doesn't work, to keep slamming into it with everything I've got until it does work.

      Viper ... 4/11/99

I guess most Sci/Fi fans would assume that "Viper" is the name of a small fighter of some kind. Actually it is a nickname given to me as a child. My uncle, who had never seen a movie or watched a t.v. gave it to me, because he said I had the personality of a snake. Among my family this is not an insult, since among the Cherokee, all things in nature are looked upon with reverence, and for a female child to receive the name of a snake was deemed an honor.

At my uncle's funeral, I asked my grandmother, why he had chosen this name for me. She said that as a child I was a quiet listener who would walk quietly away to avoid most confrontations. If ,however, my antagonist made the mistake of continuing the attack or tried to "step on" me or some one I cared about they were usually surprised at the quickness and "venom" with which they were rebuffed by such a small child. This is still the name I am called by my family and I wear it with pride as a gift of respect from one who is no longer with me in body. When my son set up my computer he entered "Viper" on the sites he deemed most appropriate, simply because it was a name I wouldn't forget.
