mab's Naming of Things (0 Replies) Anakar - 12-29-98 06:48 AM Anakar is a character I created when I had delusions of being the next great science fiction writer (after Brabury, etc). She wears the blue and silver robes of a witch mate of the planet Akadeemia. Her role is to return knowledge to the galaxy at large after the Millinum War that left only a few pockets of knowledge here and there. Most others believe that magic (or forces beyond their knowledge) makes everything work. She is also a bit of a psychic.
Re: How did you choose your online name? Autolycos posted 02-03-99 07:46 PM I got mine from the shows Hercules and or Xena. Autolycos the King of Thieves is my favorite charactor on both shows, because he is sneaky, funny, likes to be in places he is not supposed to be, and always bypasses security instead of listening to authority. Kind of like me .
Re: How did you choose your online name? Bonecrusher - 01-31-99 07:30 PM PT #1. In a different place, not here. In a different time, not now. Sat a solitary figure in front of a blinking computer screen. Working late, frustrated, tired, and bone weary. The computer ancient, The keyboard EVEN OLDER, The light touch unheard of! The pounding of the keys, became the crushing of the bones. Hence the name "Bonecrusher". #2. The name of a famous New Zealand Champion thoroughbred Race Horse. "Bonecrusher" was racing in the Japan Cup on the same day I had to work, (I was on a deadline), I missed the race. So feeling pretty beat up by the end of the day & disappointed (on not seeing the race) - the name just summed up how I was feeling. I made deadline and "Bonecrusher" had won the cup. Ever since then I've named every computer I've ever worked on or owned "Bonecrusher". End of Story.
Re: How did you choose your online name? Cmdr_Cain posted 02-01-99 07:18 AM I took the name Cmdr_Cain from Battlestar: Galactica. I enjoyed the episode when Lloyd Bridges made a guest appearance as a legend called Cmdr. Cain. He was the commander of the Battlestar Pegasus. Also a veteran ship coded as a legend. I used Cmdr_Cain as my bbs name for planets also. Not only that it just sounds neat. |
