Although the writing style is, shall we say, quirky, I was impressed by the vision of a series of novels covering a time span from pre-Earth to the far future. "Kinnison" is the name of one of two families of humans who figure prominently through the entire Lensman series. When I read that the Lensman series was one of JMS inspirations for B5, I picked this name as a tribute to a B5 precursor. --K
