You must have enjoyed a wonderful week in the Pioneer village, where you could appreciate the root of our country, respect the pioneers' effort and contributions to our society.
Similarly, in ancient China, there are three famous pioneers whose work had led the Chinese nation a break through in the life style. They are named as the Three Ancient King (三皇).
Sui Ren Shi (燧人氏) taught people to catch fire by drilling wood. Before him, people ate raw meat like any other animals. Since people knew how to use fire, our civilization started.
Shen Nong Shi (神農氏) taught people to grow plants for food. He was also the man who started to use herb medicine to cure people's illness.
Fu Xi Shi (伏羲氏) taught people to farm animals and make net to catch fish. He also taught people to observe weather and the great nature.
We thank all pioneers for helping to build the world we live in, but not to forget the responsibility to keep it healthy for our coming generations.
